Great achievement to captain Norths; 21 and he's playing great football in terrific form and a great leader. He's a big chance of a run in the NRL at some stage the form he's in.

Great asset for the Broncos.

I wouldn't mind if he featured during the origin period, perhaps off the bench. I think he could really develop into a solid first grade player.

Yeah, I have big wraps on the kid.

HE was the man behind the rise of the likes of Josh Papalii and now Brian Edwards has tipped booming backrower Brett Greinke to become the next Brisbane Broncos star.
The 19-year-old moulded his skills for Souths Logan Magpies player before being signed by Brisbane. He earned a call-up to the Broncos’ opening trial match against the North Queensland Cowboys and made the most of it.Edwards, Brisbane’s Logan-based scout, said Greinke impressed coaching staff during the trial and expected big things from the 190cm and 90kg running machine.“Personally I think Brett is a player that we will see the best of when he is around 23,” Edwards said.

“Because of his size and frame it will take time to add the strength he needs.“He works very hard and is an absolute great competitor and great guy to have around the club.“He will most likely play in the back or front row and their apprenticeships are usually a bit longer.“Brett ticks every box and I think we should expect him to play a big part in the under-20s side this year.“The coaching staff are very pleased with him.”

I agree that it is a great effort to captain a q cup side at the age of 21, however looking at the norths devils roster this year and there position on the ladder (12th of 14) I wouldn't get too carried away.
Brett is a handy player and in my opinion he is probably going to be one of those good q cup guys for a long time. Similar to dalziel-donn and mitchell frei.
Its hard to see greinke jump ahead of oates, arrow and even opacic in the short term.

I think he's better than Arrow and Opacic, and I rate Arrow highly too.

I hope he gets a shot this year.

We will lose our backrow to Origin this year.

Although, it's just as likely that Lowrie will be called up.

Lowrie most likely will be called up, which will be great because we will lose nearly all of our leadership in the forward pack and he will prove very valuable. As you said we will lose our backrow so Lowrie getting called up won't affect Greinke's chances

Yeah, agree with that. (Shock, horror)

Lowrie will be invaluable if we are missing Parker, Thaiday, Gillett, Glenn and most likely Moose as well.

Probably a good time for guys like Greinke and Arrow to stake their claim...
