Unfortunately I'll (Ryan) be in Canberra for a work conference this week and Ben also has a work commitment, so we will both be out. The other new guy Grant gets back from New Zealand on Monday and said before he left that he was keen to play, so I will let him know the game time and you should see him there. Good luck and see you on the 2nd of March, can't wait!

Ghilbli; you're annoyed? Imagine this scenario; I had 3 games cancelled in a row last season. Then 2 already this season.

And with BHQ team, this is 2 in a row.

Grand total of 7 games cancelled in the space of approx 6 rounds.

I can understand if it's hailing/large amounts of lightning strikes. It forces your team to adapt to a different kind of football. It makes you keep the ball closer to the ruck for the majority of the time, field position is key, as is a good long kicking game. I think that a good football team can adapt their game plan, I was hoping to see if our team (which I'm sure it will) can adapt.

Yep, score officially was 5-1, although it was actually 4-2. LOLZ

We were so solid in defence. Their only real try came from a simple missed tag. The other one was a fluke (low pass, kicked ahead, score).

We didn't give them an inch. And we made the most of our opportunities with the ball.

Yep. Was 2-2 at half time (hence I don't understand how it ended up 5-1....). We shut them down in the second half completely.

I am seeing the common denominator here eusa_think

I think the reason they like to cancel in the wet is that the AFL clubs get shitty if their grounds get messed up. I was surprised they went ahead with the lightning that was around - every sport I've ever worked for has a strict policy of no play if any lightning.

Yeah I was surprised too, but thankful. The lightning was far enough away really...but that can change quickly.

And yes, the AFL club get shitty, and the union club they play at on Wednesday as well.

Ironically last week it started raining late Monday night, rained all day Tuesday and the AFL teams trained there Tuesday night.
