Welp, every cloud has a silver lining I guess. Still, all those people out of work is a huge bummer.

If things go smoothly, you'd think a lot of them will get hired again.
Though I dunno if you can trust Australian people to make it go smoothly.

That sucks for JYY.

$22m is obscene to run a football team though

Even if that includes the 9.6 for the players

Ideally we want to make sure that the players keep getting paid. Imagine if we're the only club who can pay full players salaries through this, it would make us a very appealing option come signing time.

Particularly as our results in the last few years hardly justify that sort of expense.

22m on payroll? fmd.
9.5 for players.
1-2 mill for coaching staff
1-2 mill for admin staff

Where the **** is the rest going?

Maybe this whole COVID-19 is a blessing in disguise in some sense, cause its gonna make clubs really re-organise their cost structure.

fmd 22mill...

I'm hoping this payroll thing includes the leagues club etc because otherwise its fucking out of control.

The $22m would be for all the staff yeah??

The article said $22m payroll not footballing department

Legal teams, marketing teams, HR, accounting, etc.

I mean we are the biggest NRL team and also run a successful organisation...

That high performance centre must have quite a lease.

Physios, sport scientists, IT, admin, legal, CEO, management, players, coaches, trainers, HR, marketing, club staff, wellbeing staff, that dude who we paid to save Fifita, Fifitas mum probably, that stat guy that sits in the box, nutritionists, food prep staff, dodgey supplement guy, sport psychologists, Oatsy’s carer, cleaners, the witch doctor, the board, Lockyers hair specialist, Alfie, Yow Yeh, Buck, royalties for the guy who came up with ‘let’s go broncos’, TPJ tamers, grounds keepers, Jack Bird’s glass repairmen.

just because he is gone now ... doesn't mean he won't be back when the footy is and we need assistant coaches again ...
Seibold did say it's a shame he won't be back or something along those lines, so it looks like he well and truly has left.

I think he meant when the players come back to train in small groups.

I believe I heard that the Broncos intend to use PT allowance of 10 people per group to train when it looks like it's time to come back.

Seibold would have a group and Peter Gentle would have a group... I'd say he was probably referencing that as "coming back"
