It's amazing how posters on here and media harlots in the public sphere can hear the parties involved publicly inform people yet virtually nothing of what's been said seems to sink in. Time after time those who despise the successful WB try to misconstrue straight forward language to prop up hate filled agendas.

Some of you should get it through your thick heads that you don't have a right to know everything. It makes no difference that it's a public club or that it's out in the publics view. WB and his future are his business. Why it's so important to some of you amazes me. So many claims to know what's going on behind the scenes, so little knowledge.

TBF Huge I haven't read where anyone has claimed inside knowledge of anything, just speculated with personal opinion because this is a big story. The speculation comes when press conferences are held and the parties are clearly using clever language to evade forthright answers and we all understand their reasons for doing this but the fact is it's out there now.

The big picture is the clubs future not WBs.

I watched him interviewed on NRL Tonight yesterday and he said something that i thought was interesting.

When asked if he would follow Wayne if he goes, or would he retire, he said no he would stay as he loves The Broncos. He then mumbled " i don't have much longer to go anyway" as the host was saying something over the top of him.

Didn't seem like much at the time but made me think that he might be considering pulling the pin before his time is due [emoji848]

Did anyone else hear this, or were my ears deceiving me [emoji53]

Nah mate I heard it too and thought the exact same thing. I got the feeling he may pull the pin at the end of this year, next year max.

I have no doubt the leak originated from the Storm to cause a rift between Bennett and the Broncos board. I'll leave the rest of the post to tinfoil hat specialists...

I have changed my mind on where the leak came from and I think it was WB.

Paul Crawley on 360 alluded to it when he told a story of when WB turned his back on the Roosters. It was a young James Hooper who broke that story and there were only 3 people who knew about it, Politis, Ron Massey and WB.
What better way to buy time to consider the offer than a verbal caveat that if it gets out he walks.

Wouldn't ALL of the Broncos board know of an offer to Bellamy being made on the clubs behalf ? Wouldn't ALL of the Storms board know of an offer to Bellamy, an offer which was contingent on a three year term specifically ruling out a one year deal ? Me, I don't really care about the details or timing.

I'm guessing that WB is thinking retirement at the end of his contract and once again I suspect that he wants to honorably fulfil his obligation. I have little doubt that he wants to leave the Broncos in a good state and wouldn't mind in the least if Bellamy took over in 2020. I believe he just wants to finish the job, ideally with a gf win but more importantly finishing up knowing the future looks bright. Should we win the gf this year, which I think is possible I would think WB would offer to step down if the Broncos board was okay with it.

Not sure if posted but I just watched Boyd's interview about Bennett and Bellamy and a reporter says something along the lines of: "So Darius, if Wayne was to leave, you would stay at the Broncos?"

Darius replies: "Yeah mate I'm almost done anyways."

Sounds like next year might be his last?

The way he instantly had answers as to what he would do with a year off indicates he has had the conversation with the Broncos and has given it some thought. I'd imagine what the Broncos intend to do is give him a contract, that potentially actually starts next year, in which the first year he goes around exploring other clubs and sports while still earning some money. Then come November 1st, he is at the club full time.

The Broncos missed out on Green, and at this stage I'd say Bellamy is the only option really to take over from Bennett without it seeming like a huge backwards step for the club.

I'd imagine Paul White would be under a significant amount of pressure as since he has been at the Broncos, they have not won a comp, and they have gone through a couple of coaches. He is also aware that the Broncos having Griffin just wasn't up to standard for a club with this much money behind them, and that recruiting anything other than a Top Tier coach (Bellamy, Green sort of mould) would be a gross underachievement, and the Broncos board would acknowledge it as much.

Yeah people saying we have to sign them. Obviously those players want to play for a great coach, if we get bellamy, Bennett is likely to retire, thus Bellamy would be hands down the best coach in the comp. If we were to lose Bennett and get a no name coach (ala Henjak / Griffin) we would likely see a mass exodus. Thus why it's a MUST that we throw everything at Belamy and get him, because if we don'tg et him now, We will be in a lot of trouble because Bennett doesn't have much left.

All the fuss around Bellamy intending for Broncos job had totally overshadowed Wayne's achievement today. Why in the world do anybody had to do it before the great man's milestone match? Why can't it/they wait until say, after our game against Storm or even end of season?

NRL needs to celebrate the occasion. They went brouhaha for Bellamy's 400th game. Why not now?

There's a saying -"keep your fiends close & your enemies closer". We are definitely not doing either. There's so much hatred against the great man & the Broncos out there & I pity them for that. Even if Wayne decides to end his association with Broncos beyond this year or extends it further 2019, I stand by him. He deserves the acknowledgement and wish him further success (maybe the premiership this year!:superhappythumbsup:).

I was reading the print edition of the Courier-Mail just before. Lol at all the hot takes. Tallis's was the funniest. Wayne is definitely a rock star coach if that is possible.
