Can we put it here since it's about refs? Admin pls move if not allowed.

What can and can't the bunker overrule on?

What they can’t do is call forward passes and make the correct call.

That they can do is manage and manipulate needed results and say, ‘we have a decision.’

It’s funny how the bunker isn’t meant to be watching games only decisions that are referred to now overruling on field decisions that they weren’t asked to look at.

Again inconsistent application of their own processes

what's worse is i thought they got that decision wrong

To a point.
Imagine if they pulled the game up for everything we think we see it would be unwatchable. But yes I get where you’re coming from.

When Fergo's hand wacked Milf's head and stunned him for a sec I don't care if it was accidental it was still contact to the head of a player when he was on the ground.

If that was TPJ chasing a fullback he'd be on report. In this instance we never even got a penalty. Whether Milf was milking or not is irrelevant. It was an accidental/intententional/careless wack to an opponent's head and should have been our penalty.

Lexie putting his hand up to then bring it out of there with Parra sweating on a mistake was pretty ballsy. His little chip and regather before Fifita's try and the fact he was spilling blood for us last night proves he deserves another two years. If anyone wants a GF ring more than him they're welcome to it.

TPJ probably would have been sin binned and gotten a month on the sidelines

It's good to see Lexie get some recognition, which i'm seeing more and more of around the place ... IMO, he has been one of our (and the NRL's) most under rated players for years

Also how is Maxwell considered the best video ref.

He gets so many things wrong and is rewarded with origin and all the big games

The Bunker is only supposed to rule on a very select set of circumstances. Yet we have been told, and it has been confirmed via official audio, that the Bunker effectively manage the game for the full 80 minutes.

I guess my opinion on this topic is the same for the refs and the video refs. The statistics on penalties blown mean zero, without context for whichever penalties should have been blown, but weren't. I'm fucking sick of teams laying all over us in the ruck, and then the moment we lay a stray hand on the opposition for a fraction of a second, we get pinged. The game isn't about refereeing to the rules, it is about being selective as to when to apply the use of the rules in order to manage a spectacle. Even if a blatant penalty has to be blown, there will soon be a ghost penalty to square it up. If one team is ahead on the scoreboard, they will be scrutinised harder than the other team. Just as evident recently, with the amount of sin-bins, is that the refs will manage a team differently if they have 12 players. Instead of making them suffer the consequences of foul play, the refs will give them far more leeway in the rucks and let them get off their line way early, simply because they are down one player and the refs don't want the 10 minutes to be the defining period of the game (even if it deserves to be). I'm over it, there is no reward for actually following the rules, in fact you could make a strong point that the dirtiest teams prosper because the refs will always up the count.

There’s no mystery about it. Look at the past three premiers, the dirtiest, grungiest clubs in the comp.

Poll is flawed, I can't see Cameron Smiths name. I guess I'll have to go with Klein then...the corrupt flog. I mean, they've all got a few clangers in them...but nobody beats him for consistency.

isn't that all rugby league fans have been calling for :rofl

Anyone watching this raiders game??

Maxwell making a massive wrong call to deny the warriors a try by claiming a blocker was denied the chance to go for the ball.

He is just deadset incompetent and it's not even a question anymore who is the worst ref.

Somehow he is the lead video ref, which means he has the most impact on a weekend as he adjudicates on more games than anyone over the course of a weekend.

He is going to cause some serious damage in the finals series

you're right ... Klein has had the spot sewn up for a long time
On the field Klein is horrendous, but given Maxwell covers about 3-4 games a week and gets try scoring decisions wrong takes the cake for me.

Every time I hear his dopey voice over the vid ref I shudder to think what he will **** up this time

Let's not forget Maxwell was vid ref last week and decided to overturn a blatant knock on to gift parra a 7 tackle set when they were under the pump.
