Opening up this thread to talk about Saturday night's curtain-raiser.

Manly finished top of the table but have hit some hiccups at the end of the regular season and now semis, similar to the Dragons in the NRL, whilst the Broncos finished 5th after a slow start to the season when most of our good players from last year that were still eligible for NYC were playing Qld cup. We hit back strong when a few of them returned to NYC (noteably Ben hunt) and gave the Tigers a touch up last weekend, whilst Manly lost to the 8th placed Raiders who we beat in the last regular season round.

I note Manly have a 4 players in the NYC Team of the Year and we had none, so they are a good side and it will be a tough game but there are usually always plenty of points scored in these games so worth getting along early and backing our boys on their way to hopefull back-to-back grand finals. Keiran foran will probably be back from Manly's NRL side now they are out and will add plenty to their side.

Gonna be 2 good games in a row on Saturday night cant wait.

Must win! Why?

Well, lose and they're out.
But also, in week 1 each team who had both an NYC and First grade team had the same result. So if NYC won, First grade won.

Oh...except St George-Illawarra...they fucked up the trend. Stoopid Dragons.

Anyway:
Manly lost both
Storm won both
Broncos won both
Dragons won NYC, lost first grade

We'll be there for this game. Serioulsy peeps get there early, the U20s is awesome!

Not enough people go to U20's its sad really.

Lets pack the Stadium Early and cheer on the young boys!

It will be tough, some good match ups but.

Warea-Hargreaves vs. McGuire
Hunt vs. Foran

Regardless of this weekends result, it's been another successful year for U20 coach Anthony Griffin.

I wouldn't be surprised to see him promoted to be Ivan's assistant in 2010.

and throw Langer back to U20's to learn the trade!

When we're able to watch it! Tee tends to talk the whole time and we miss most of the action! :P

You can "listen" to him, whilst still watching the game

Well yes, but often his stories are visual so he needs your undivided attention :P
And invariably something happens and it'll be "what just happened?" :P

Ahhh gotta love him. LOL

Everyone get their early and cheer the young boys on, Ben Hunt will be our future after Locky - he is our very own clone of cooper cronk!

Goodluck to them!

noo dont compare him to Cronk!.

His our very own Ben Hunt"

Couple of notes from the game (saw the first 10 or so minutes on TV and most of the second half at the ground).

As reported in the Courier Mail last week, we've got some good forwards coming through. We've already seen McGuire in action, and his NRL experience has done him the world of good because last night he was fantastic.

And I was very impressed with Dale Copley - again! The try he set up for Gagai was fantastic.

Not sure how the young fellas will go without (most likely) Ben Hunt next week, but if the forwards stand up I'd think they're still a good hope!

Our U20s forward pack looks mean as. Can't wait to see Hala, Lingwoodock and Lui hopefully getting a crack at first grade next year sometime.
