THE BRONCOS have beaten off a host of rival clubs to re-sign the youngster set to inherit Darius Boyd’s fullback throne.

NYC fullback Corey Allan is just 17 but has already been identified as a future NRL star.

Several clubs have been chasing Allan, the Queensland under 18 fullback this season, but the Brncos are expected to announce his re-signing in coming days.

“Corey was in hot demand but has decided to stay at the Broncos,” Allan’s manager Sam Ayoub says.

“He is a special talent – not many 17-year-olds play in the NYC against kids three years older than them.”

Allan hails from Marsden State High School – the alma mater of Test skipper Cameron Smith and dual international Israel Folau.

I've heard he can play in the halves.

Perhaps he should replace Ben Hunt.

The kid is an absolute gun, if he was eligible I reckon he may well have already played first grade this year on the wing.

Really? What sort of player is he?

Well good to have re-signed him then but I'll wait and see how he develops then jump into believing the hype just yet if you don't mind.

Hope he gets a chance to play some ISC at some stage in the next few years. I think that it's good to have the young guys playing against the more mature blokes, not just the young kids in NYC.

While the kid can definitely play, he has a long way to go before first grade. He looks a little unsure out there sometimes in the games i have seen. Few years to to hone his talent though.

He'll probably end up leaving to get a starting gig at some nuffy side like the dragons
