We need to readjust the squad now and get players that want to stay, by showing commitment by taking unders. This is how storm, roosters and panthers have been able to be so competitive for so long. If they truly want to be part of the Brisbane Broncos then show us all.

The sad thing is our club provides the very best of just about everything but nobody is prepared to stay here for less. All the players seem to want to do is make money of what the club provides. Feels like very few guys love our club.

Just because we're the richest club, it doesn't mean we can spend any more money on players than the poorest club .... This sport isn't the same as European soccer comps

We need to let Cobbo go unless he take unders to stay. We can't afford paying top dollar to another player in our squad . An extension at current pay is the only offer that should be made for the sake of the cap. Not personal just reality. He hasn't earnt a pay rise based on his performance or professionalism in any case so I am glad we havent put one forward at this point. Looks like another young potential elite player we have developed for another team's benefit but that is the way it is under the cap.

Mam, Walsh, Mozer, Carrigan, Willison, Haas, Black are the core players longer term and Black and Mozer will need some experience first graders in their positions as they develop. I don't think Madden or Rogers are good options in this regard.

Next year we need a Walsh Backup, some first grade standard outside backs for depth and cheap first grade standard second rowers. Not sure these players are even on the market.

We lose Pereira, Oates, Hoeter, and probably Hetherington and Karapani so we will have to replace them and we need experienced backups not kids with potential. If we can move on Paix that would help but seems impossible.

The year after we will probably have to replace Reynolds and Cobbo. It seems like we wait to see if players will stay and by the time the move on for more cash we have no backup plan.

Looks like Josiah Karapani is off to the Bulldogs next year. Ciraldo wants him to replace Skelton as a metre-eating winger. Of what I saw of him, he looked like a promising player and thought Broncos could have used him the same way Ciraldo intends to. Can't believe your R&R wouldn't bother keeping him on the cheap.

Our primary focus should not be the players. We need to blow up the system and structures and start afresh looking at what successful teams do and then getting players that fit that structure.

Using the 2 most consistently successful clubs, penrith and Melbourne as a general frame work. Breaking things down there are some very basic common features.

1. Defensive line speed and contact. All players must be proficient at this, even if halves miss tackles, they halt momentum.

2. Invest in a quality spine with a good kicking game. We need to look for a kicking game post reynolds.

3. Outside backs that make metres/ get involved and help the team out (not as big a strength of Melbourne, but this is a big key to penrith's strength). They can run attacking patterns/lines and communicate in defence.

4. Second rowers run lines, defend with good lateral movement.

5. Forwards win the physical game in attack and defence. And FFS get deep and run onto the ball.

The entire team don't need to be world beaters, they just need to play their role in a successful system.

Look at the tigers, they try to buy players from successful teams and it does bugger all. The system is the key, not players. They are secondary.
