TC Robati extends until 2024

Exciting forward prospect Teui “TC” Robati has upgraded and extended his contract with the Brisbane Broncos until the end of 2024.

The 19-year-old backrower, who made a promising NRL debut last night against the Storm, has been a standout for Broncos Affiliate Club Wynnum Manly Seagulls in the Intrust Super Cup this season.
“I really like TC’s attitude, he’s all about training hard and playing hard – and I like his mentality, he’s very raw but also very physical,” said Walters.

“He’s been in the top four or five players in the Intrust Super Cup for the past month and he’s got a heap of potential that we are looking forward to developing with him.”

At last night’s post-match media conference, Walters was glowing in his praise of Robati’s debut effort against the Premiers.

"He was the shining light out there," Walters said of Robati. "We're very happy to have his signature and he is certainly a player of future for us and a player right for now based on tonight."

Selwyn Cobbo extends until the end of 2023

Electric teenage outside back Selwyn Cobbo has upgraded and extended his contract with the Brisbane Broncos until the end of 2023.

The 18-year-old speedster, who turns 19 next month, has been in great form at fullback and on the wing since making his Intrust Super Cup debut for Broncos Affiliate Wynnum Manly Seagulls at the start of the 2021 season. At 190cm and possessing great footwork and a fend, he has averaged 169 running metres for the table-topping Seagulls, as well as 31 tackle breaks, six line breaks and three tries. He has run for a huge 414m in the past two ICS games alone, against Sunshine Coast Falcons and CQ Capras.

David Mead extends one year, taking his contract until the end of 2022.

Broncos Coach Kevin Walters said: “Dave is the ultimate professional – he is a family man with an outstanding set of morals, as well as great experience on the field.

“He represents everything we want at this Club and acts as great mentor and an example to the young men who are coming through in our squad.

”Add to that his really good form on the field for us this year and it is an easy decision to offer him another year at the Broncos.”

Brenko Lee signs until the end of 2023 season on a two year deal starting next year

Broncos Coach Kevin Walters said: “Brenko provides plenty of experience and comes to us after a standout 2020 season.

“He is a Brisbane boy and a true Queenslander and he will fit right in here at the Broncos.

”The fact Brenko wants to join us, along with a lot of other players, shows that we are headed in the right direction.”

Hetherington signs until the end of 2023.

Broncos Coach Kevin Walters said: “Kobe is a player of strong character that suits the type of person we need to have on our roster – he’s honest & hardworking and is well respected at our club.”

Teammate Jake Turpin said of Hetherington: “Kobe is one of those players who if he is next to you, then you know that he’s not going to let you down. He’s tough as nails and he puts everything on the line with each and every run and each and every tackle.”

Tyson Gamble extends until the end of the 2023 season.

Gamble said: “It’s unreal to re-sign with the Broncos – I love the way the club is going, the direction that Kev is taking us and I’m looking forward to the future.

“It’s good to keep the young blokes around, it’s a good crew that we’ve got here at the moment and the longer we keep all of us together, the better we can go.

“We’ve had a bit of a refresh mid-season and after that win against the Sharks, there’s no reason we can’t get a few more to finish off the season, and we can then build into 2022.”

Jake Turpin activates his player option which keeps him here until the end of 2022.

TPJ Joins the Bulldogs from 2022 in a three year deal for a reported 2.2M over 3 years. He was reportedly on a 650k salary with the Broncos and has been released from his final year.
