We should do a Broncos team of the decade with the same criteria. (Off the top of my head)

1. Karmichael Hunt
2. Darius Boyd
3. Brent Tate
4. Justin Hodges
5. Jharal Yow Yeh
6. Darren Lockyer
7. Ben Hunt
8. Shane Webcke
9. Shaun Berrigan
10. Petero Civoniceva
11. Tonie Carroll
12. Sam Thaiday
13. Corey Parker

14. Josh McGuire
15. Brad Thorn
16. Ben Hannant
17. David Stagg

I agree with all of that

That's a pretty good team.

This would be mine (on performance, not reputation)

1. Karmichael Hunt
2. Josh Hoffman
3. Jack Reed
4. Justin Hodges
5. Israel Folau
6. Darren Lockyer
7. Ben Hunt
8. Shane Webcke
9. Michael Ennis
10. Petero Civoniceiva
11. Alex Glenn
12. Tonie Carroll
13. Corey Parker

14. Brad Thorn
15. Josh McGuire
16. Sam Thaiday
17. Shaun Berrigan

A couple of explanations...

Hoffman - Personal preference. I thought he was great on the left wing in 2013, one of the best players in the game in that position and I don't think his performances at the back from 2010-11 should be forgotten either.

Reed - Basically by default. Brisbane really didn't have many good left centres through out the past decade. His main competition would come from Berrigan who had a fantastic 2005 there but was eventually exposed and I much prefer Shaun in the utility role. That leaves Michaels, Emmett, Moon & Glenn as his main source of competition, basically giving it to him by default.

Folau - Israel was a freak. As great as Yow Yeh was, Folau was simply better and it's a real shame he got picked up by AFL because he could have been a Hall of Famer here had he stayed.

Ennis - I still think that after all these years, his 2008 was the best season of any hooker in the past decade. Sure, Berro's run of form in 2006 was sublime, but he was exposed big time in 2007 and some of his service then was the worst I've ever seen it. I'll settle for a rotation, and Ennis would be the player I'd start off with.

Glenn - Probably the toughest selection of the lot since guys like Gillett, Te'o and even Taylor could push for representation, but I thought Glenn's 2012 was fantastic and since he played that exclusively down the left, I'm giving him the nod here.

TC - Somebody needs to look after Locky.

Thaiday - Went very close to picking Gillett for more mobility but I can't deny Sam's form in 2006, 2008 or in 2010. He was great and has had the better career up to this point.

1. Karmichael Hunt
2. Jharal Yow Yeh
3. Brent Tate
4. Justin Hodges
5. Israel Folau
6. Darren Lockyer
7. Ben Hunt

11. Tonie Carroll
12. Sam Thaiday
13. Corey Parker

14. Shaun Berrigan
15. Brad Thorn
16. Matt Gillett
17. Josh McGuire

Some of these are really no brainers, others are up for discussion, in particular the backrow, where we have the most choice by far.

For the record Big Pete, the criteria for the other one was minimum 50 games played for the club, Izzy only played 39 for us :P I would've had him otherwise.

Criteria, Shmiteria, there's no limits to my team. :001_tt2:

...

But if we're doing it 'Doggy style.

5. Jharal Yow Yeh

Thats a premiership team if ever I've seen one :aetsch:

14. Shaun Berrigan
15. Brad Thorn
16. Dave Taylor
17. Josh McGuire

The Taylor selection, I couldn't really decide on who to pick so I went with who stood out more for me.

Hannant came close to being selected. He cops a lot of shit, but he was good for us before he left for the Bulldogs.

Poor Dane Carlaw, he doesn't deserve to be in that team.
Yeah, he had the reputation of being soft after an explosive start to his career, but I thought he redeemed himself in 2006. Won't be able to get that Oscar winning performance in that storm ad out of my head.

I can only think that you must have forgot where to put Aaron Whitchurch in the team. And Palmer Wapau must be captain with the mighty midget Ian Lacey off the bench for impact and aggression.

Big Pete, Hoggman ahead of Yow Yeh?

He was that good.

Boyd over Hunt is an interesting selection.

@Big Pete , Hoggman ahead of Yow Yeh?

Sort of...not really.

I'm very stringent about which side of the field these players play at and unless I've seen examples of players being able to play on both sides then I can't select them there. I only recall seeing Yow Yeh star on the right, so his competition was between Folau.

Thus, on what actually occurred, I'd have to go with Hoffman with Boyd and Winterstein giving him a chase for his money.
