I made a video of our new recruit David Mead, so I thought I would make one of Benji Marshall. A highlights reel I put together of his time at the Dragons. I hope you all enjoy it.

His best days may be behind him, but on his day Benji Marshall can still play some brilliant footy. If Bennett can get the best out of him and get his confidence back, he would be a very good signing. Hopefully, it all works out.

Man, those hip passes are something else! I knew this is a best of compilation but jees, on his day he can turn it on. I still don't know where he will fit. All I can see is Kodi losing that bench spot.

Well if we condense our middle in tight and spread the ball out wide, perhaps he milf boyd and oates can have a mile of room for him at centre to score a lot of points in similar fashion

I'm kind of hoping he can work on his defence and play a Jamie Lyon role for us at centre. It would give us a third option in attack, someone who knows how to take a field goal, and it would take the pressure off the halves to always have to come up with the 5th tackle options.

The more I think about it, the more I like him at centre, providing he can work on his defence. If he's going to be a turnstyle, there's no point.

To be honest, I think he would serve us better as the bench utility given free roam when he comes on.

Benji still has some tricks up his sleeve, and he plays his best when he can play what's in front of him on both sides of the field and play an off-the-cuff style. He is a better game manager than our current options and he is a better kicker so that could come in real handy for us especially on the right side with Roberts. If there is anyone that can put him in space, it's Benji.

I think he would go alright at centre if he were to work on his defence, but I think we would be better off with him as the bench utility.

That would mean Kodi gets demoted to reserve grade.. But really, the only thing Kodi has over Benji is speed and elusiveness. But Benji isn't a slouch himself.

If Bennett can get his confidence back and get the best out of him, I do firmly believe that he could be one of the best signings we have made in a long time. He could be that little something extra we need to win that premiership.

That is a big if, though. As it's been pointed out, Benji's best days are behind him. Even though he can still play some brilliant footy, he has declined a bit and there is that hamstring concern.

I was originally going to add more of them. Technically, they weren't try assists because Benji didn't throw the last pass etc but those tries were made possible because of Benji's ability to completely fool the defence with that play.

But I ran out of time.

Back in the day, centres were allowed free roam in attack.
