Yet another handy incident to have in the papers. I have a feeling Souths fans wouldn't have started this.

A PREGNANT teenager was knocked over during a brawl involving more than 20 Bulldogs and South Sydney supporters at ANZ stadium last night.

The young woman collapsed when she became caught up in a fight between about 20 teenage fans just minutes after the game ended.

Wearing a Bulldogs jumper the 17-year-old victim collapsed and was left slumped up against a wall in the public concourse under the stadium's northern stand.

She was distressed and struggling to catch her breath as witnesses raised the alarm with security.

A friend was screaming: "She's pregnant for God's sake - will someone call an ambulance?"

By the time police arrived the brawling teenagers had scattered, and it was left to stadium security staff to care for the shaken victim.

Police have been forced to examine video footage of the brawl in a bid to identify those who started it.

Why do you have a feeling souths wouldn't of started this? Who cares anyway, it's another nothing article making the press, brawls happen all the time across all codes, who cares.

hahaha. Great to see the story back up the pic :)

oh btw, there was a brawl in the knights V manly game, two knights fans got put in intensive care, I don't see news on that. Media, please stop reporting non events.

Meh, you don't know who started it. While some Bulldogs fans have the reputation of being a bunch of cowardly bullies, it isn't fair that they are blamed for every fight that may erupt at a Dogs game. Souths fans are a bunch of bogans anyway and I've seen several fights at Souths games and just ask the SBBS about what happened in 1999 to them.

Build a bridge....

Scott was saying that on 2GB today there were reports of Bulldogs fans beating up a security guard in bay 126.

The security guard asked 2 guys to leave for smoking in the stadium after having 2 warnings to stop. They didn't and a group of 5 - 10 guys jumped him when the security guard asked them to leave now. Police came in to forcefully remove some of them, I think I read somewhere that they even had to call in the riot squad! Also it was all Bulldogs supporters calling up and reporting the events and all Bulldogs supporters involved.

Yep, sounds like dogs fans too.

I would also like to know why a 17 year old is 25 weeks pregnant (no need for smart ass answers on how you get pregnant either) and also why she is at a football game.

I hate Bulldogs fans, they are just nasty and crude.

Wait! You can't ask a smart arse question like that and then put this into your post;

What so pregnant women can't go to football games??. Also reality check not all people live at home until they are 30 some people get knocked up young and end up supporting the Doggies.

Hammo - it is cause I know how your minds works. *insert next smart ass answer here*

Nathan Jones speaks after dad bashed at MCG

Monday, April 6, 2009 - 3:05 PM

Source: ABC News

Melbourne midfielder Nathan Jones says he is angry and disappointed his father Brad was attacked at an AFL match on Saturday.

Brad Jones was with his 14-year-old son when he was bashed outside the MCG.

Three men have been charged with affray over the incident.

Nathan Jones says his dad was defending someone at the time.

"I never expected my old man to go to the footy and something like this to ever happen," he said.

"It's pretty unfortunate and it should never happen at any sport, let alone AFL."

AFL incident, hardly gets a few lines, nrl incident however, gets how many articles now 5? Is it just me or does the nrl journos love to blow things out of proportion and as a consequence the games reputation suffers.

That's their job.
That's not the point. Regardless of what their job is, they are giving RL a terrible reputation amongst the australian sporting scene, RL journos seem to sensationalise any little incident which would hardly rate a mention in other sports, and as such are creating a general perception among fans and non fans alike, that rugby league has a lot of trouble making players, idiots, etc when realistically it is no better or worse than any other sport, or society in general for that matter.

Exactly - though the media definitely run their own agendas. Its bloody clear some journalists love the game of rugby league and some are definitely getting some form of satisfaction in trying to bring the game down.
