The Roosters confirmed the players had been out at two Sydney drinking establishments on Monday night, just a week after the squad had pledged to avoid alcohol for a two-week period.
The Dally M medallist along with teammates Nate Myles and Frank-Paul Nuuausala will be asked to explain their actions on Wednesday morning after it was confirmed the trio had broken a team alcohol ban on Monday night.
"The Sydney Roosters NRL playing squad made the commitment last week to avoid alcohol consumption for a two-week period,'' the club said in a statement.
"The club can confirm that the players were at two Eastern Suburbs establishments on Monday night."

The commitment to stay off the drink is believed to be motivated by a determination to curb the club's deteriorating off-field behaviour.
It was reported that a cab driver phoned the Roosters to say he had driven the players between two Sydney bars about 2am (AEST) on Tuesday.

Investigations by the club have so far found no evidence of any anti-social conduct. All three were named in the side to play St George Illawarra on Sunday, but it's likely they will be stood down for the match as punishment.
That might not be the end of the matter for Carney, however, with the former Test representative believed to be on his last chance with the club after previous misdemeanours.
The club will certainly be under pressure from NRL chief executive David Gallop to take a firm stand after he was given personal assurances by Carney earlier this year that he would get his life back on track.

Loves a drink doesn't he?

Sweet so they didn't get wasted and become dickheads... Where is the issue?

Sick of this twat giving headline-hungry, predatory newspapers ammunition against the league.

Did the club come up with the alcohol ban or was it their player group.

Sydney Roosters must make tough decisions and part ways with Todd Carney and Nate Myles, Fox Sports rugby league commentator Laurie Daley says.

Daley believes the Rooters board may have had enough in the wake of the latest scandal to engulf the club.

Daley is a hypocrite, his former team used to cover up Carney's behaviour & allowed him to get away with it.

They broke an alcohol ban imposed by their club.
great, give them a slap on the wrist and a little fine.

they didnt get up to any trouble, they just had a drink by the sounds of it. i dont see why there should be any penalty other than a fine.

From a PR point of view, it's terrible. The reigning Dally M player of the year, who has since done nothing in a team running near last, with a long history of alcohol related trouble decides it's a good idea to go have a drink in public after once again promising his club he wouldn't. He doesn't exactly make the muckrakers work hard for their headlines does he?

How is he not sponsored by tooheys yet seriously.... The roosters should be over the moon Myles didn't **** himself this time.

Just read on twitter that Nate Myles has been dismissed from the Chooks. :ranting:My NSRL fantasy team is most displeased running into finals.

lol. How many slaps on the wrist can one player be allowed?

**** lets sign him for the rest of the season. Carney for next season....

What Nashy said, how many slaps on the wrist can you get?

Carney is a lost cause. Time to cut him loose and stamp him "never to return".

If he's drinking and not causing trouble, then who cares? I don't. No one else does.

BUT - If he's breaking club policy AGAIN then the Chooks MUST sack him. This is why the club has lost its bearings over the years, they are too scared of dumping a player of Carney's talent because they are concerned about future success. There is absolutely no alternative for the club, other than to sack him.

And that's just it. They went on an alcohol ban last week. A week later they're breaking it. This is a discipline issue at the club. Is having a few drinks, being loud and asked to leave a pub/nightclub a horrible offence? No. But when you've promised not to do something, and you do it anyway, then it's a lack of respect for your club, your coach, your teammates. If you have players in your team that have no respect, then you don't have a team.

Must go.
