CASUALTIES & SUSPENSIONS 2021

He's got a long way to go so its not really a big blow for the NRL side, but it does mean he's going to miss out on development until he recovers. He's contracted until the end of 23, so might be able to sign him up cheaply again.

When was the last time we went a season without an acl injury?
Would also love to see the number of acl per club over the past 10 seasons.

Gee that mats disappointing regarding Xavier. Looked great the poor fella. 6 months without running, he should be able to pack a decent amount of size on his frame - looking on the bright side.

Disappointed for Wilson, but 6 months should see him come back around round 10 or so, but he should be left to develop longer in cup as he needs to fill out. Tough young fella, walked off and was able to walk around after the game which made me think it was no more then a mcl.

Sucks for Willison but gives the kid some time to get some more muscle on in the gym.. he'll come back bigger and stronger

That's just fucked. He was looking the goods too. He'll be able to go full on with upper body strength and conditioning now and come back in full beast mode.

Can we get some expert physio boffins in to do some research as to why the propensity of ACL's at the club and how to modify our training regime to help avoid it.

Xavier Willison has done his ACL.

I'd argue this is what we should tell Milf, for your remaining two months at the club, show X-Man how to pack on the kilos...teach no one else anything.

This would also interest me.. Maybe one of the stats gods like @Super Freak or @Big Pete could help us if they have the time.

Rough estimate.

Panthers - 15
Roosters - 15
Cowboys - 15
Warriors - 15
Titans - 14
Sea Eagles - 14
Raiders - 13
Dragons - 12
Broncos - 11
Rabbitohs - 11
Storm - 10
Bulldogs - 10
Tigers - 10
Eels - 9
Sharks - 8
Knights - 7

The real number could be higher for each club as there's very little injury news when it comes to development players etc.

Interestingly, ACL injuries started to drop in the couple of years prior to the 6 again rule change. Ever since then, there's been an increase in ACL injuries.

2015: 14 before Round 11. 21 end of season.
2016: 10 before Round 11. 23 end of season.
2017: 10 before Round 11. 19 end of season.
2018: 9 before Round 11. 15 end of season.
2019: 4 before Round 11. 12 end of season.
2020: 12 before Round 11. 19 end of season.
2021: 7 before Round 11. It's on track to being higher than 2019 end of season.

Interpret that however you want. You could say the 6-again rule is causing in increase in ACL injuries. It's certainly caused an increase in total other injuries.
