Following on from my comments re: the selection of Beer in the team, I would like our learned readers to compile a fanatasy team to help us put a halt to this alarming slump we are currently in the grip of.

Let's assume that Beer is our tweaker at number 8.

I will start the ball rolling with the my offering of one of the opening batsmen. Let's see if we can come up with a team choc full of good Australian names to arrest this slump.

Ok, we are starting to assemble a team that can put it to the Poms.
Thank you Jeb for your selection of Jack Badcock.

I have been thinking about the team so far, I think we should shuffle the batting order around a bit.

I believe that Badcock should be moved up to open the innings with our newest selection...
Doug Longbottom.

Imagine the impact of a couple of opening batsmen called Badcock and Longbottom striding out to the middle.
That way we push Bong down the order a little.
I would also rush young Belcher into the team. I believe that Beer from one end and Belcher from the other would be a fine bowling combination.

Reiffel is a good quick bowler and could bat a bit too, and that's just a surname that would have the English shitting their pants again. Scary enough as an umpire.

Wessells doesn't offer any fear in the surname, but I went for it as a tactical selection, because if the English can pick South Africans to win everything for them I think we should try it right back at them.
