Kiss the season goodbye. Not enough depth to last it out. Imagine if there was a second team in Brisbane. No chance from the start of the season let alone origin time......
I don't think the wins have been lucky at all. There have been some terrific tries
As for the slide, it's not easy to compete against the best without players of the calibre of Thaiday, Hannant, Hodges, Gillett and Parker ... and a completely ineffective coaching approach to defence - yes, as always - pathetic linespeed and ineffective tackling technique and attitude
Our slide began when this happened:
With all this gloom and doom, we might as well just lay down and die...More and more it highlights to me that the Broncos for years, probably since 2006, were completely and utterly dependent on Darren Lockyer. Coaching has largely been irrelevant. It's been Lockyer that's led the Broncos on the field, driven the game plan, spotted the opportunities and inspired his teammates.
The Broncos have no leader now. The Broncos have nobody on the field with vision. Nobody on the field that has instinct. Nobody that takes the game by the balls.
The coach has issues, sure, but the Broncos just don't have any quality talent in their team. Even at full strength. Individually Hodges, Parker and Thaiday can do good things, but they're not superstars. They don't have vision.
It's time, Broncos fans. Gather up your videos of our golden age in the 90s and early 00s, and especially 2006. Find yourself a nice comfy cave. It's going to be a long hibernation before we see the warm glow of success from the maroon and gold again.
