Apparently according the NRL rules a player can not officially sign with a club until round 13 meaning just like lewis the incumbent club can make a counter off up until round 13 and he could legally accept that.
Now that Crocker has left melbourne early, this means melbourne could now offer him the contract he wanted from them and he could walk out on the broncos offer (LEGALLY!!@#!) With out any problems and the broncos would have lost certain players because of him.
Well you might say well the broncos could just re-sign the players they lost due to him coming well what if he decided to do it at end of round 13 with no time to react, than he would well and truly mess up things at the broncos.
