Considering how bad the tigers and knights have been over the last few years, i was wondering if you were the owner what would you do to save your club. Would you get a new Coach? Sign a certain few players and if you were the owner what players would you sign and what coach would you replace, Nathan Brown and Jason Taylor with.

if i was the owners of knights i would stick with with nathan brown. For me the first player i would sign matt prior and paul vaughan in the forwards, i would then sign a quality lock in jake trbojevic to replace jeremy smith and SKD in the outside backs, finally i would sign a quality half in kodi nikorima to partner trent hodkinson. I would then be patient and let players like sione mata'utia the saifiti brothers, danny levi and Sam Mataroa develop and hopefully field a team like this in the future

1. dane gagai
2. nathan ross
3. sione mata'utia
4. SKD
5. jake mamo
6. kodi nikorima
7. trent hodkinson
8. paul vaughan
9. danny levi
10. sam mataora
11. tariq sims
12. korbin sims
13. jake trbojevic

14. daniel saifiti
15. jacob saifiti
16. matt prior
17, jack stockewell

The jury is out on Nathan Brown. While his approach is brave, it isn't the best idea to have too many young guys at once. If he can nurture 5 genuine first grade talents, then it will be a success. However, let's say the likes of Dane Gagai, Sione Mata'utia, Danny Levi, Korbin Sims, Jack Stockwell, Pauli Pauli stagnate and he continues to play them than it's on him as a coach. Blooding a bunch of players when there's little else on offer makes sense in theory but in execution what tends to happen is that these young players get over-awed and the genuine prospects tend to grow complacent.

Wests are a basket case. It seems as if they've been sold up the river with the likes of Nofoaluma, Moses, Brooks, Sironen etc. being no where near as good as they initially thought. What's really puzzling is their salary cap situation. How are they even close to their limit? Even taking on board the Farah deal, they can't be that bad. I think either they've got to hope there will be a few clubs around willing to make generous release offers or they'll have to make some ballsy decisions.

If I was assembling their 17...

1. James Tedesco
2. David Nofoaluma
3. Tim Simona
4. Michael Chee-Kam
5. Kevin Naiqama
6. Mitchell Moses
7. Luke Brooks
8. Aaron Woods
9. Matt Ballin
10. Ava Seumanufagai
11. Chris Lawrence
12. Dene Halatau
13. Joel Edwards

14. Tyler Cassell
15. Tim Grant
16. Dallas Graham
17. Manaia Cherrington

With Woods and Ballin currently out, Sue and Farah have an opportunity to make their case otherwise the axe has to come in.

Sironen is another.

On the changes I've made...

I never understood the decision to bring Rankin in. At best, I saw him as a depth option for fullback or the halves but you can't keep picking him on the wing. I believe he needs to go and the Tigers need to look at an alternative in the centres. For now, they should play it safe and go with Chee-Kam who is a lot like Takairangi for Parra. It may not be flashy, but at least it provides the Tigers with more grunt to work the ball out, more skill in the centres and gets Naiqama playing in a position that suits his strengths.

I don't particularly have a high opinion of Halatau or Edwards but the Tigers need some starch and confidence and both players have that over their team mates.

On the bench, I have a relatively inexperienced mob, so I've thrown Grant in with them to ensure there's another old head there. Cassell is a gritty player who is basically everything they want in Lovett. Graham is a rugged no nonsense prop who provides more punch than Buchanan or litany of back rows.

I love how in your fantasy world you can just sign any player you want with no regard to their current contract, your salary cap position or their desire to leave their current club.

Stuff it.

Next week I'd drop Sue and give Griffin a shot.

If Taylor (or the caretaker) doesn't make proper changes the club is history.

it was just abit of fun, the main part of this thread is I wanted to here from other people to see how they would resurrect a side and to see who they rate as a possible signing to fix the issues of these two teams

thats one thing i have been wondering all year, i thought with how the tigers have been going rodd griffin would have had a shot in first grade by now, i was also wondering what team has he been playing?

Griffin should DEFINITELY be in there. I were the Tigers, I'd drop Brooks and find some mature halfback in a state league. Brooks has a lot of potential but he has absolutely stagnated and needs a rocket. At least Moses seems to be continually improving. Since Farah is going to be there until whenever he wants, move him to halfback and play Ballin in the 9 when he is fit. That way, you at least have a pretty decent spine on paper. The forward pack is not unfixable with what they already have. The backline has some decency about it as well, just not the consistency to go with it.

I think Newcastle is a work in progress and Brown needs a bit of time.

Tigers are a joke. First thing they need to do their is get in a coach and back him against their players. The players acting like spoilt little brats are the biggest issue. They will never get anywhere while the coach isnt the one in charge.

I think the biggest brat is the biggest problem. The common perception is that Taylor stuffed up in the way that he tried to punt Farah, but I can't see how else he could have gone about it. If he'd had a lovely heart-to-heart and said that it's his time to go, would it have made a difference? Putting their big boy pants on and telling him straight was what a coach should be doing, but there is no higher caliber sook than Farah. And I certainly don't think Taylor should have persevered with him, it's been obvious for years that the Tigers can't move forward while he's there undermining everyone.

I think the Farah excuse is a cop out tbh. A good coach sorts things out no matter what. Would Bennett allow that type of shit to happen? He'd play them in reserves the entire year if it came down to the player not wanting to leave and being a negative influence.

Taylor is a shit coach, no excuses.

Farah is a festering pus infection in that team. Both the board and the coach are responsible for letting him dictate terms! (sorry Wally)

Well any one man only has so much power, look at Bennett at Newcastle. He did alright with them but even he couldn't fight against all the outside the team rubbish that was cancer on them. I don't even think Bennett could fix the Wests Tigers because the problems are not only team related, they are also culture and board.

The CEO came out in the media apologising to Farah and publicly guaranteed him the starting hooker role. I don't think there's much the coach can do in those circumstances except keep an active jobfind.com.au profile and wait for the axe to fall.

Its an absolute disgrace isn't it. When you as a coach see that, what are you supposed to do? Taylor had the chance to stamp his authority and that team and he tried to do so, then it all blew up in his face and now his coaching career is basically over.

Where did the CEO guarantee him the starting role?

From what I can see it's Taylor himself.

Jason Taylor guarantees Robbie Farah Wests Tigers No.9 jersey

Taylor said "absolutely" when asked if the NSW hooker would start the year in first grade despite threats to demote him to reserve grade. "He has trained well enough to make that position his own," Taylor said. "It's been his position and I don't see any reason why that will change between now and the start of the season.
"There's been lots of positive conversations between Robbie and myself over a period of time. We have got to a great result this week and that's off the back of a lot of hard work from both of us putting the club first. I spoke to Robbie before [the Wood's announcement] and he is really excited for Woodsy."
Farah's guaranteed inclusion comes as new recruit Matt Ballin recovers from a knee injury which is likely to sideline him for the opening weeks of next year. Woods said he was grateful Farah had re-committed to the club and would use him as a sounding board for advice.
"I would have been filthy," Woods said had Farah left. "I would have hated to have played against him. He is such a good player and he knows how all the boys play here. He can be a coach when he retires.
"A lot of the boys would have been filthy too. We don't have to worry about that any more, we are happy he is staying."

Get rid of the board at both clubs.
Get rid of Farah at the Tigers and get rid of Mullen & Uate at the Knights.

I definitely wouldnt bring todd Peyton in, it's a backwards step, but JT has shown he doesn't have the balls for the job. I'd buy Cleary to coach.

the Warriors is the other team that needs to be put under the microscope!
