I don't watch the Brisbane local games often, the only games I watch are the Souths-Logan games and finals. Anyway does anyone think it would be great if Wally was added to the call team. It would add some history and a new perspective to it as neither Ikin or Voss played in it and Wally would have some great stories to tell from Wynam-Manly and Valleys. The lady up the street i talk to when I walk my dog used to cheer for Souths (Brisbane) in the pre-Broncos days.

Ben Ikin did play Qld Cup, for Toowoomba Clydesdales in 2004. Admittedly only part of that season (before being called up to first grade again) but he did play in the local competition.

Disgusting isn't it. How often do you watch NRL games on Nine and one of the douchebags comments on a player saying "I don't know much about this kid but he looks good"...meanwhile, a kid does something good in Q Cup and Vossy will tell you about his dad's football career and how he went during his schoolboy days. He does his research, loves his footy, is dedicated to it.

Absolute disgrace how channel 9 is treating him.

Going to Davies park was always a fun arvo out as was at Valleys. '85 GF sticks in my mind for a good game but more so the big fight down the grass slope at the back of the outer down by the hot chip & beer vans, scarred the crap out of me and never forgot it.

I hope whoever gets the main share of the games in the new TV deal picks him up and makes him their top caller. I reckon the guy is one of, if not the, best callers going around today.

I wonder if the real reason that Hadley has becoem channel 9's second caller is because he is more prominent in other areas of the media and can cross promote the game, and more importantly channel 9.
