Phew, what a finish. I so wish we had three more laps. Russell hit a wall, Max was in a weird spot where he was mowing down George while Kimi was just on another level to both suddenly.
 
Kept nodding off during the race unfortunately, so have properly caught up this morning.

Man Ferrari were well off the pace on those hard tyres.

It wasn't an overly exciting race until right at the end. It is crazy how quickly Kimi came at Max, its like he hit a nitrous switch.

The battery powered overtakes here are ridiculous. It's like musical chairs with drivers constantly chopping and changing positions depending on where they deploy their battery. I'd say 80 percent of overtakes in this so far have been meaningless.

Yeah its crazy.
 
Just watched the sprint after getting home from Broncos.

Seems because of how Silverstone as a track is, the drivers are running out of boost essentially, as they can't regenerate it as quick due to so many high speed sections of the track.

So its going back and forth back and forth just dependant on how boost is used between drivers. Then the 1s extra boost deployment comes in as well, which is where Kimi just absolutely blasted past Hamilton.

I dunno if id say I enjoy the racing more now, but im still hooked on the sport, it does just seem a bit silly though currently. Think theyve tinkered a bit too far
 
Yep and got taken out for good measure. He's still going but its going to be a long race for him. McLaren's best shot is to try and get him to the end on this set. The tyres will be shot but he has no other choice.
 
Penalties for track limits when your car is ****ed, causing you to exceed track limits is ridiculous really.

The track limits are a thing to prevent gaining an advantage, when your car is ****ed and you can't turn, you aren't gaining advantage.

Ferrari pitting Lewis and costing him 2nd as well. lol. Although they couldn't have predicted they wouldn't get any more racing laps in.
 
Yeah it was an absolute mess at the end of that race. But at least the championship fight is back on. I feel a bit for Kimi though, I really really like that kid.
 
Russell has had his share of issues with the car to start the season, so Kimi will probably have similar issues now as well. Be interesting if they continue and start to give Ferrari a sniff more often due to reliability.

I was reading earlier something about Merc having battery related penalties possibly looming as well, as you are only allowed 2 of a certain component for the year, and it sounds like both Merc drivers are already on #2..
