Anyone else in the "who cares" bracket?

Honestly, this is the most pointless of the Grand Slams. Clay. Bleh! Inferior players always win it.

So with that said, go Casey Dallacqua!

Yeah, 2nd round just about finished. Think it's day 6?

I like the closeness of the matches, also like the fact the better 'tennis' player rather than the big server has the advantage as they did before technology raped the game. But I don't have foxtel so have watch bits of highlights and snippets at other peoples houses.

Tennis sucks, however the Aussies are going ok currently.

Lleyton and Casey into the 3rd round.

Lleyton will probably get beaten by Ferrer who is the 5th seed but!

I think I am pretty much in the 'Who Cares' bracket Coxy, unless Ivanovic, Jankovic or Sharpova is playing [icon_wink icon_thumbs_u

Fair point about clay taking the big serve out of the equation. But the bounce seems really inconsistent too, so it seems a lot more luck involved.

I like grass tennis, even though it helps big servers, but it also encourages net play.

I reckon the US open has the best surface though.

The bounce is very inconsistent on Australian clay. On European clay, which is far more dense, the bounce is very consistent with the exception of when the ball connects with the lines, as is the case on most surfaces.

There is virtually no luck involved in clay court tennis. It reduces the impact of big serving getting players out of trouble and reduces it to a slug fest. The fact that Nadal won so many matches in a row on the surface proves this. There is actually far more luck and inconsistency associated with grasscourt tennis as the matches often are determined by a few key points.

Replace 'french open' with 'tennis' and you have hit the nail on the head.

Not necessarily inferior players but definitely one dimensional players. Essentially all you need is heavy ground strokes to be successful.

Casey's doing well though. Two wins against much higher ranked opponents.

And I agree with Jeza, Hewitt will go down to Ferrer (who I can see making the semis and maybe even Final).

I'm currently watching Federer vs Montfils and it's a pretty good game! And the atmosphere's awesome!!! icon_thumbs_u

*yawn* Nadal beats Federer in the final. Ho hum.

Federer was farking terrible! Don't think he'll ever win this one... though if Rafa breaks both his knees one year it should be a far closer contest.

I only got to watch the first set, and it was like 5-1 or something like that. As much as I love Federer, I was happy that Nadal one, cos Federer's won heaps. :P

Yeah I know, but I'm talking generally. :P

Nadal is just so dominant on clay. It's crazy, he makes every other player look second rate.

Wimbledon should be more interesting though. Grass court tennis over clay court slog-a-thons any day.
