The size of the goal post pad is getting ridiculous. Congratulations NRL for once again taking something that was simple and pure, and turning it into a clusterfuck.

I hadn't noticed anything different except teams are now using them as extra men.

Inch by inch, they are getting larger every year.

If Kevin Locke had hit that he would have died instantly.

So far the goal post has saved us one game, and conceded one try in a game we won despite all odds. Posty can stay.

It also saved us from conceding a try against the Tigers when they put a grubber through.

Thompson was going to get to it first until it hit the post.

Because of the size of the padding, hitting the post.......and hitting the padding, are two different things.

It's so people don't hurt themselves. What's wrong, you seem grumpy! :porthozthinksthisishot:

Its a contact sport. Players get hurt.....it's a fact of life.

How would you feel if "mobile" players started wearing inordinate sized padding....and were gaining an advantage by doing so.

And that’s why I don’t follow Gridiron. Americans are a bunch of pussies when it comes to contact sports-that’s why they feel the need to overcompensate (ie guns).
