He hasn't officially been sacked but he has been stood down and will likely leave before 2012.

Imagine the uproar if Manly turn out to be cheating the cap. Could be a massive witch hunt coming up.

If there is one club that should just suck it up it's Manly. So much of their success over the years has come from buying other clubs stars. When they were high rolling pre salary cap there were no holds barred, if they wanted a player they generally got him . ESAD Manly

How bad are the board? Hasler is reportedly leaving for the $$$ so as a board, knowing that some players have get out clauses and taking into account the loyalty of the players and his support staff you roll the dice over (supposedly) $50k. I bet they wish they could make that decision again.

Word is the new chairman does not have many friends. Hasler apparently pushed quite hard for the upgrade and retention of himself, Foran and DCE quite early in the year. Manly fluffed around and now look what they have inherited. They have also apparently had to pay overs to secure Hasler's support staff given their new found importance.

Hasler leaves Manly amid accusations

Des Hasler attempted to walk out on Manly for the 2012 season as far back as August 22 - even though he was already under contract with the Sea Eagles for next season.

The Sun-Herald has obtained a series of explosive emails from Hasler to Manly officials, as well as the findings from a scathing report on the coach by the then chief executive Graham Lowe last year.

To me, Hasler is a prickly kind of character, a lot like Craig Bellamy. You either love him, or hate him. I think he was having a growing number of people (board and players) hate him.

and yes, the Bulldogs is a club which amplifies personal disputes. He's no chance of success there. I'll say it now.
