Watching the call of obstruction made during the last few minutes of the first half of last nights Parramatta-Brisbane game got me thinking about dud performances in bygone years. For me the two that take the cake was the effort several years back to penalise the Broncos 10 nil and by extension honouring the opposition that night with the title of PERFECT TEAM...the second shocking performance was Bill Harrigans insistence that NSW did not knock-on twice when all of Australia clearly saw it...just a bit of ranting...any others worth noting ??

harrigans was easily the worst imo, nothing comes close. 2nd would be the origin game where hodgson fumbled that bomb, yet they gave the try, along with locky's no try in the same game

What about when Locky caught the ball in goal 1 cm insdie the dead ball line and grounded it, yet the video ref said no try... to me that what cheating at its finest. Forget which origin game it was but a few years ago.

Ben Creaghs awarded try in the first origin this year was the worst i've seen in a long time !!!

Two knockons in the one movement

Bloody video ref gave the game to the warriors today .lockes first try shouldn't have been awarded.

I remember a game a few years ago where a try was awarded but clearly was not a try followed by an even more incredible shot at goal which obviously missed but amazingly was awarded. A total of six points that the team did not deserve....I just can't remember who was playing but I clearly remember the game. Never seen both parts wrong before or since.

Yeah, game 3, 2006. Awful reffing. First the Carroll "strip", the Hodgson dropped ball try, the Thurston knock-on (which never happened) that led to another NSW try...we were getting robbed in that game.

Taht was terrible. It was irrefutably a try. The series ended in a draw because of that call.

easily the worst call ive ever seen in rugby league.

beaten only by this 'play on' doozy in the world cup the other night: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=H0hfD0pFGDw

other notables:

- hodgsons apparent no knock-on.
- not seeing 2 knock ons in game 1 2000, then sending off Tallis.
- no try to lockyer in game 3 1999, when it was blatantly a try.
- carrolls 'strip'.
- JTs 'knock on' off his chest.
- Haynes 2m forward yet somehow backward pass in game one this year.
- NOT sending off or at least sin binning O'Donnell for that spear tackle.
- NOT sending off Barrett for his clenched-fist-swinging-arm-angry-look-on-face cheap shot on Inglis.

basically, just put it down to ANY decision bill harrigan has made in the last 10 years. apart from the decision to retire.

And his no-try against Hayne last year...

that too. it was the 100% correct call, so i dont know how he managed to make it.

Just watching the replay of Origin 1 from this year.

I'm still absolutely gobsmacked they awarded Creaghs try at the end of the game !!!!

FFS, every person in the stadium/on tv could see there was 2 deadset knockons in that play.

I really hope there are no real clangers tonight that could decide the game

shayne hayne in the eels-sharks game in around 2003, where the sharks were down to 11 at one stage and lost by 70.

David Peachey being sent off for walking to the sin bin while Hayne was still talking to him!!!!!

perhaps not worst, but how about matt cecchin sin binning alfie in 2002 against the cowboys at ANZ for calling him "an expletive dumbo". Still makes me laugh that one.

That was a brain snap and a half.

"DAVID! DAVID"
*looks at someone else*
"He's off.... He's off!"

Most frustrating 70mins of football to watch especially considering the consequences had we had lost that game.

One of the biggest reasons why it was one of the most epic SOO wins ever.

I was watching that game at the RSL in Emerald. I was nervous as hell before it. My dad and brother were getting really worried cause I kept firing up at this NSW dickhead who kept applauding the shitty reffing and giving it to us. He left fairly quickly when Locky scored and the pub went mental.
