Will haas get suspended again if he doesn’t play informant again?
Well I doubt they were both on the back of the motorbike, it would be quicker to walk. Would be surprised if he saw or knew anything.

I'm curious as to how a kid born and raised in Brisbane, of indigenous and Tongan decent, ends up being a New Zealand national.
The same reason Russell Crowe was an Aussie when he won his Oscar and a Kiwi when he was carrying on like one.

Paul White was at the airport to greet him and give him a hug. Nice touch.

The Broncos have handled this superbly.
I wouldn't say they have handled it superbly. From a logistics point of view they have done well to resolve the situation and get Fifita back home, but from a PR standpoint they have yet again lost control of the narrative.

The only quotes on the situation have been from his Bali lawyer who has been far too vocal for Australia media purposes and has been swooped on by the scum of the earth journalists over here... it's a mistake to allow him to say that Fifita can't remember what happened or to try and downplay it as minor misunderstandings, etc. because that shit doesn't fly over here with the PC brigade

It may have been that the Broncos kept silent so as to not antagonise the situation with the Bali police, but we haven't provided any alternative story to the one that the media are currently running away with (alleged bashing, alleged assault, etc.).

It will be hard to pull back the narrative now, unless the integrity unit does in fact find evidence of a completely different scenario

I think your point has some merit, but I'm inclined to believe that the safest thing for all involved is to say absolutely nothing themselves until they're all back in Australia and no longer in Indonesia's jurisdiction. Any attempt to paint any kind of narrative to the media or otherwise could have very serious implications for Fifita while he's still located in Bali.

As for the lawyer speaking, well you have to stop looking at it purely from the Broncos perspective and consider that his comments may well serve a purpose in Indonesia with local media and authorities, who take a fairly dim view on Australian's causing problems over there and getting away with it. To us, all that matters is how it effects the Broncos, but over there, the Broncos are not even on the radar in this incident.

What a massive beat up and fuss over not much at all.

So Payne an Dave were on one motorbike? Thats two rather large units on one tiny bike.

Yeah my thinking is that the Broncos didn't want to comment on the situation to avoid antagonizing the locals and them throwing the book at him... get the charges dropped, get him back in the country and then tell your side.

Yep, 100%.

Even if I'm being totally Bronco-centric about the whole thing, it's still far more important that he comes home safely than how quickly we can give a version of events to the media.

Worlds toughest bike! That’s a lot of heft to be lugging around, consider me impressed.
