--> If the season falls into place without any doozies (I'm sure there will be a few)... most likely... to win the title you are going to have to beat the Storm in the finals at SOME stage...

Can we beat Melbourne in Melbourne?

I think we can take them at Suncorp. Not sure about Melbourne though.

Yes.
We can beat any team, anywhere, on any day.

So long as we play our best, I fear no one.

Grand Final is played in Sydney :)

Yes it is, but to get there we might have to face Melbourne in Melbourne first.
If either Melbourne or Brisbane make the top 4 and lose in week 1 then it's fairly likely we'll have to play them to get to the grand final.

That being said if both teams make the 4 and both win in week 1(assuming they're not v'sing each other) then we can only meet in the grand final.

But if we met them in Week 1 it probably isn't going to be decisive as neither team would get knocked out.

ask this question in 06 as well... wasnt sure we would be able too but we did when it counted

06 was a special year. Webcke retiring, everything Lockyer touched turning to gold, Berrigan finding his best position and dominating in it, Hodges being in amazing form all year, especially at fullback. We'll have to see if we have anything like that by the end of the year.

What if Melbourne finally got that curse that every other club besides theirs seems to suffer at least once every 5 years....injuries? Like the open said himself, it's only round 5

I've said it so many times before, Melbourne is absolutely blessed with injuries, they NEVER have get players injured for any length of time, certainly not more than one at a time either.

When is the last time Smith, Slater or Cronk missed more than 2-3 weeks in a row or when was the last time 2 or 3 of them have not played at the same time due to injury? I don't think it's even happened. Compare that to us where we have lost Lockyer many times in key periods along with other stars all at once.

I said SOMETIME - hence the 'Melbourne in Melbourne'.

I remember in 09 we went down there after a MASSIVE game against the Dragons and they ambushed us - albeit the TC at 6 tactic was used, regardless it was a shalacking.

Melb won't be a problem for us IMO they don't have the front row to win a GF. If both sides are at full strentgh, and I hope they are, we will beat them.

Surely they'll be docked all their points by the finals

They are robots. There is some dodgy shenanigans going on in Melbourne.

The only time I can remember it happening was when Cam Smith got injured in the Anzac test and missed Origin 1.
