In denial?

So while we are all on our Finals Scenario Calculator's, have we missed the most trivial of facts or are we just denying it?

Storm and Manly have been, far and away, the two most dominant teams this year. To beat either team, anywhere, in any finals game is a monumental ask. Storm have only lost 2 games since the (hectic) Origin series. They have soundly beaten Manly (twice).

The Sharks, as great as they have been in defence, haven't got points in them....except in the last 5 games (4 wins), which have netted them (121 points) an average of 24 a game. Easily enough to beat Roosters and Broncos.

Roosters are far and away the poor performers in recent rounds, but remember they put away the Dragons, who easily accounted for us and the alarm bells start to ring.

Are we a real contender?

Or is this all a time -filler until the Sea Eagles host the Storm?

FTR; If there is one man who deserves to leave Brisbane with one more Premiership, it's WB.

The last time you underestimated the Broncos, it cost you $10.

Here's a question....SHUT UP!

We'll put in a good performance tonight I said.

You've got your Broncos coloured glasses on he said.

Your on I said.

2 beers for me!!

The regular season means absolute dick, we are now at the business end of the season and I personally think the broncos have the team to beat any of the sides in the 8. It really comes down to attitude and mindset. The Broncos are traditionally a big match club so hopefully the stand up when it is counted.

Lets remember we were without Hunt and Hodges when the Dragons beat us. And there was only 4 points in it.
Manly - We can beat them easily I reckon, put pressure on Orford & smash their forwards and they will have nothing.
Sharks - Overrated IMO. They have gotten some good results this year but we have a much classier outfit and can beat them easily.
Roosters - Despite Minicheillo returning I think they're almost out of fuel. We should be able to beat them without any major problems
Raiders - Provided our defence stays strong we should be right. The raiders have plenty of points in them but concede far too many as well
Dragons - As I said, we were missing Hunt and Hodges the last time we played them, there was only 4 points in it and we played soft anyway. There is no reason why we can't knock them over
Warriors - I can't see them going too far, we should be able to beat them. Especially on Australian soil.

....The storm - I don't think we can win against them in all honesty. They are too fast, too strong and too organised. I just hope they stumble before the final hurdle. This is unless Bennett has saved something for his last hurrah for Brisbane in his little book of tricks.

Every team goes into the matches against the storm thinking exactly what you typed and thats proberly the only reason half the teams dont beat them. screw it, its a game of footy if you think storm can easily beat you then they will. what teams gonna win a match thinking " we cant beat them"

instead it should be "ok they can out play us on this lets chance our arm and try something new" result is eaither a win or a loss.

There's more to in than believing in yourself mate. We CAN beat them but it would take a friggin huuuge effort. I still haven't seen the Broncos play well enough in recent rounds to be able to take on Melbourne successfully yet.

Are we a real contender? My oath.

Yes, the Storm and Sea Eagles have been consistent all year. But I still think that the Sea Eagles are far from a certainty to make this year's GF. They have certain sides that worry them, and not the best record playing out of the bigger venues.

I still think that the Storm are deservedly red-hot favourites.

But I also think the Broncos are the only team that genuinely can beat them "on their day", even when Melbourne play well. There is no other top eight side with the strength across the park when it comes together, and Manly now have a massive psychological mountain to climb when it comes to Melbourne too.

Put it this way, if the stars align so we face anyone other than Melbourne right up until GF day, I will be confident.

When it comes to Grand Final day, there is no better man in the world than WB when it comes to getting teams ready for the pinnacle of our game.

i didnt think we were contenders in 06 and look what happened. from that our young blokes have finals experience so we will be better for it this year.

I have a gut feeling that if we go far in this series Tunza will have alot to do with it. His sheer brutality in defence and hitting up the ball will really set the standard for the physical game our pack will play.

I wouldn't want to be in denial. Really dirty water there. Lots of dead Egyptians floating in it.
