There has been A LOT of talk about Melbourne Storm in the past few weeks, and a lot of comments coming from people in the Rugby League community that this side is the best of all time.. Even better than the Raiders, Sea Eagles and Broncos in the 90's.

Do you agree that it's the best side of all time? Or were there better?

90's Eagles?

They're not in the mix.

They're not even the best Storm side.

2007 adds Inglis, Folau, King, Johnson to the team.
2009 lost King & Folau but adds Chambers, Blair, and of course Scott Anderson.

I don't think it's necessarily them being the best, just all the other sides are pretty mediocre compared to other years.

This. Every other team is down on form or troops. For the Storm, so far everything's coming up Milhouse.

Pretty much this. 07 storm was best ever, but had to cheat to do it.

Not giving them a single inch.

If Melbourne win the comp, which is pretty much expected at this point, it's just another competition they have blighted the memory of with their bullshit. Wrestlemania, exploiting grey areas/loopholes in the rules (HIA being example number one), Smith playing referees boss, the list goes on. They have 3 of the best players to ever play the game in their spine and they still can't win a title without wrestle, frustrate, grind, wrestle, frustrate....

They're the Cersei Lannister's of the NRL. They will destroy everything in their way if it means being kings of the ashes

I don't think they beat the '98 or 2000 Broncos.

Before that, the game was too different.

I'll take that side any day, good thing about Hancock that era he was making the transition to playing more of a backrower but could easily slot into the back as well.

The fact that the storm have been so dominant throughout the regular season shows me why I'm sick of this constant drive by the Sydney run nrl to always "keep the competition even". The days of the great Brisbane, Canberra, roosters, eels or st George sides are long gone because if a side were to dominate the Sydney media would simply whinge so hard about some minor advantage that team had and they would try to take it away from them.

Look at the soccer comps. A successful club is rewarded, if your club is well run or has lots of fans why shouldn't it enjoy success more then a basket case club or one that doesn't have any fans. This mentality is what is holding the game back in other areas also. I'm not saying the salary cap should be scrapped, but success should bring some level of reward for years to come

Great team.
One player that probably got overlooked because of the sheer superstars around him was Darren Smith, what a player.
His second incarnation at Brisbane was just remarkable.
Just a footballer through and through.
