Maloney out to leave legacy ahead of Panthers exit

James Maloney is set to today announce he is leaving the Penrith Panthers and the NRL at the end of the season.

For my money, he's been one of the best players of the decade and has brought success to every club he's been to. I hope a lot of junior coaches take note of his career and use him as an example for aspiring halves. Jimmy played with no regrets and even though he had flaws in his game, he let his finer points shine through. I think he's picked the right time, there have been signs over the past two years he's starting to lose touch with the pace of the competition but as he's shown over the past couple of months, on his day, he can make things happen.
