Has there ever been a player in better form than Hayne is right now?

I ask this question seriously. Obviously hayne is not the best player ever, but has a player ever put on such a dominant display for consecutive weeks than hayne has? He is single handedly carving teams up atm. I thought his chip over the top was brilliant last week, but then he did it again last night and in even more spectacular fashion. Then his offload in one of the best league tries i have ever seen where about 5 offloads were produced.

I still think Inglis is the best player in the game right now (well technically hes not it in right now, but u know) but not even he can play as well as Hayne is right now.

I always used to think he was overrated, but this season he has been incredible. On his off days, he's still great, and on his good days he is a class above the opposition. If he plays out the season in this form, the Australian selectors would have to be retarded to pick Slater ahead of him.

Yeah, Hayne is red hot. Reminds me of how good Hodges was at fullback in the last couple of games of 2006 although Hayne has more tricks in his bag.

Agree fozz, thats the thing with hayne, he can play like hodges and inglis (fend and step) but the passes he put on last night as well as the organisational skills and the chip kicks AND the offloads as well as 2 massive 40/20's last night. as much as i rate slater, dukey is right, hayne is about a millions times ahead of everyone including him atm

He's great to watch when in form. And even better to watch when he isn't...

Can't disagree with your comments though. He is in a class of his own at the moment and must be a good chance to take out the Dally M.

He is a certainty to win the Dally M he has been man of the match at least 6 times in the last 10 weeks, he is playing the most consistently dominant game of anyone I have probably ever seen. While guys like Johns and Lockyer are great week after week when in form, Hayne is single-handedly demolishing sides with freakish plays to go along with 40/20's and line breaks from kick returns. It is without doubt the best purple patch I have ever seen one player be in.

Don't like the guy - but cannot deny how dangerous he is at the moment. Just tears the defense in half. Definately the most in form player of 2009.

His just in red hot form. Hasn't had a bad game since before Origin 1 according to memory.

I do think it's highlighted more because the way he plays is just flashy - but definitely on a great streak of form.

Like I said, I do think it is highlighted 'more' because the way Hayne plays is just a massive highlight reel. Awesome stuff and I'm happy for the kid. He deserves all the praise right now. I just hope the media or fans don't start throwing knives too early again if he drops form down the track or next year.

What does he mean by that? Is he trying to say that he's achieved more in a shorter space of time than any other player? Well that can't be right because Folau debuted in 2007 and he's already played for Australia, won a Grand final and a series for QLD.

Hayne has done what? Been in a winning NSW series? Nope. Been in a winning GF team? Nope. Won a Dally M? (Not yet..) Played for Australia. Yep..

LOLZ. Hayne has achieved SFA compared to other players in the game. And if his manager is talking about "in the shortest space of time" then he's wrong because Folau has done more since his debut.

I read that this morning mrslong and actually felt compelled to submit a comment and had it published:

He hasn't won a grand final, hasn't won an origin series, hasn't won a world cup.....yes, he's a good player and I'm sure in the span of his career he'll achieve maybe some, maybe all of those things. But to date, he hasn't achieved any of the things that most first grade rugby league players will assess their career on when they've finished playing.

Lockyer also had achieved more by the time he was the same age as Hayne if I recall correctly.

There needs to be some kind of regulations on what Player Manager's can and can't say about their clients, because it is obvious they're just attempting to push their value up. Their is absolutely no ethics involved whatsoever.
