Jeff Horn vs. Gary Corcoran

Horn defends his WBO welterweight title against Brit Gary Corcoran Wednesday week (13th December) in Brisbane.

Should be a routine night for Horn. This is a complete 'cherry pick' designed for him to cash in with minimal risk. Then he would likely face a guy who he would be a huge underdog against - Terence Crawford - in Las Vegas next March.

But cherry picks can and do go wrong frequently. Look at Miguel Cotto today. He lost his farewell fight in New York against Sadam Ali. Ali was seen as a 'soft' opponent for Cotto to retire with a win - but it did not turn out that way.

Anyway, it's nice to have an Aussie on the world scene to cheer for.

Straight forward fight in the end. Corcoran had his moments but horn always looked too strong.
Yep! Jeff had a class edge. He needs to better manage his weight cut for the Crawford fight. He looked like a ghost coming into this fight after dropping 4 kg in a day before the fight.

How the **** do you lose 4kgs in a day
Sauna and diuretics... My ex was a world class judoka and she'd also run covered in plastic bags to sweat... Madness.

A healthy dose of starvation, too.

The stupid thing is they can then eat and drink the weight back on after the weigh in.So what’s the point

Agree, batshit crazy... The damage it does to their bodies and minds is ridiculous. Sometimes the damage can be permanent, especially for women who have a body fat reading of less than 4% (IIRC) they can go into a premature menopause and become sterile. My ex briefly wandered into this territory and it was pretty close to rendering her sterile. All for sport...
