But to already say that Turpin is a better runner out of dummy half than Macca just because 'we' hate Macca is false. The stats back it up. He doesn't run from dummy half.

Macca has always run very sparingly, but has a good one-handed pick up and go but he needed a back-pedaling defence (which was rare with the forward pack we had for a few years there) and then usually won a penalty off it. Which was great but also worked against him in that it didn’t allow the play to continue with that advantage. It got stopped for a kick to touch or a pen shot.

I love Turps because he’s always moving and waiting for an offload. When good things happen for us, he’s usually involved.
