Justin Hodges retires from the NRL

Great career congrats Hodgo. Will definitely go down as one of our best players.

Well done Hodgo ... Thanks for all your service to our great club

I wonder where Reed, Copley & Kahu fit into the equation next season, especially with Carlin Anderson possibly being thrown in the mix.

One of my all-time favourite Broncos - although I admit it took me a little while to warm to him again after he jumped ship to the Roosters. Have loved watching him play, just a real pleasure. A pure competitor and passionate guy who also knows how to have a laugh. Really hoping for a Grand Final send off now, but regardless he'll go out a champion.

Ask a hard one ...

Kahu and Copley as our starting centers with Reed, Oates, Anderson, Maranta and Vidot (if he stays) to fight it out for the wing positions.

At this stage (as i haven't seen enough of Anderson to judge) I'd go with a backline of:

1. Boyd
2. Oates
3. Copley
4. Kahu
5. Maranta
6. Milford
7. Hunt

As much as it would be awesome for Copley to get the centre spot, Bennett has shown he prefers Reed. There is no way Wayne will go into next season with two effectively inexperienced centres, Foordy my man.

A great servant of our club and of Rugby League. Lets hope this announcement is an impetus for the team to really lift and get that premiership to send him off a winner.

He'll play his 250th game during the finals series. To reach that number considering how much time out with injury he's had is extraordinary.

It looked like this has been playing in the back of his mind lately as I think he has been a bit off his game.

Hopefully now that the decision is finally made, he can just focus solely on footy and winning the premiership.

A champion player. He will be missed.

Fantastic player, fantastic career with the injuries he has had. We will miss his leadership next year for sure. Hopefully this spurs the boys on to make it a big ride for his last year.

You probably right mate. But i would certainly love to see Kahu and Copley as our centers next year, as i think they are our future in the position.

Hodgo was always able to get under the skin of rival fans which is always a bonus.

Haha, oh foordy. We all know how much you love copley :) most of the time you're absolutely right and i feel copley will be an awesome Centre. I however still rate reed highly and feel both kahu and copley will have a role to play next year. Copley has more to learn in to be good enough for bennett.

No player holds his spot all year round. Players will always get their chance to shine and prove their worth

My favourite Broncos player ever along with Lockyer. I'm going to be incredibly sad when he plays his final game, I'd love to send him out a premiership winner, the way he carried us in 2006.

He single-handedly carried the team in 2007 after all those injuries.
And pretty much every year on he's been our most dangerous back, and before the emergence of Ben Hunt, was one of our only players who could actually set-up a try when we really needed it.

I doubt we'll ever get another career centre as talented as he was. His times at fullback also show just how brilliantly talented he was. I don't think there's a better attacking fullback in the game it's just a shame all the injuries really hurt his speed and agility in the back end of his career but like most true greats, he adjusted his game to suit his strengths and still remain a force.

Onya Hodges.

I'll join in and say how much of a hole he will leave but the timing is right. Tough and uncompromising ,resilient and a genuine match winner . Enjoy your retirement and good luck with the next stage, don't get too fat !

I'm not as upset as I thought I'd be. He's my favourite League player EVER, bar none. But he hasn't been the same player for a couple of years now. Not consistently. He's still won more games on his own than most have ever even played, but they're becoming few and far between, and he's now starting to lose us games as well. Arguably he hasn't been the same since he sat out 2010 with the snapped Achilles.

That being said, there is no player that I call out to as much as him, even this year. He'll wave to me one day.

Love watching Hodgo play. As others have said, it will be a sad day when he plays his last game.

Congrats Hodgo. Let's save the celebration and ceremony until after the GF :-)

PS Bennett doesn't **** around does he? One shocker from the old dog and he's been given the talk.

Could be a little late season spark.

This would increase our chances of winning the Round 26 clash against the Storm.

We tend to win our final home game of the regular season when club legends are retiring or leaving.

2012, 2011, 2009, 2008, 2007, 2006 etc..
