No one has the pitchforks out, but none of us are wildly excited either.

You don't speak for everyone man. After what I saw last night with so many best team players missing, I am excited. Walsh will take a lot of pressure off Reynolds clearly.

Its fair to say that no one would be wildly excited, however no one had wild expectations of a team of reserve graders. 5/14 of the expected starting team were only on the field for 30 mins.

Anything but a diabolical collapse is satisfactory - its a trial game. 100k prize isnt worth a 5month injury to our starting squad.

It was pretty clear that from approx 30mins on - football was to be played from dummy half and very bare bones.

Hmmm....yes
the 2 trial matches with the 2nd & 3rd string team, look terrible don't they.

I might wait until R6 or 7 after watching the NRL 17 go around a few times.......before making such wild assumptions.

Whilst this is a valid point, it should also be noted that our reserve graders have been playing against reserve graders - so it really is tit for tat.

Try going across to the far right of the menu to the 3 vertical dots, (if using the dark theme, they can be a lil difficult to see) click on them, and you should see 2 options drop down. Select the [ ] and hit 'toggle BB code'.

I dunno, it was exciting seeing some of the tries they were scoring in the first half.

Not even just the tries, we've got a genuine left footer in the team capable of belting it down field, that's going to compliment Reynolds really well. A decent prop rotation with Marty in the side, Herbie is back and that means we have 2 genuine strike centres on opposite sides of the field. There is a lot to be excited about, unless of course you're prepared to die on that "I don't think Kevvie will make it" hill. In that case, yeah, best to turn away.

I have some real concerns for our defence after that opening period when our better players were on the field. Really struggled to win the ruck and we were getting rolled up the middle which is very reminiscent of last year (and years before)

Walters was asked about Cobbo’s All Stars performance following the 24-all draw with the Titans.

“Yeah it was great to see Selwyn do that ... he has been well coached,” he said with grin, per News Corp.

“He is improving all the time.
