Airdate: League Nation Live – TV Tonight
Just wondering whether or not anyone's heard of this show - if so, will you be watching?
SBS has a mixed record with these sports entertainment shows. The Marngrook Footy Show is actually fairly well put together - compared to the AFL Footy Show on Channel 9, it's Walkley Award-winning stuff.
On the other hand, there was an A-League show a couple of years ago on SBS 2 called Thursday FC, which was unfunny, boring and mostly served as a Western Sydney Wanderers propaganda machine. SBS cancelled it after it pulled only 4000 viewers (not a typo).
I'm not expecting this show to be particularly good, but I'll tune in for the first couple of episodes, even if it's just to see Hodgo again. Heck, it's filmed at Mt Coot-Tha and tickets are free, I might go along to a filming or two.
New NITV sports panel show League Nation Live begins next month, filmed in Brisbane.
NITV presents exciting live sports entertainment series League Nation Live. Hosted by ex-Broncos captain Justin Hodges and Deadly Award and Logie nominee actor Aaron Fa’Aoso, alongside league fanatics Hannah Hollis, Jodan Perry and Nathan Appo, League Nation Live will capture the best of Australia’s favourite football code, the NRL over 31 jam packed weeks.
Filmed live in front of a studio audience, each show will bring 90 minutes of entertainment, sports and stunts. From community clubs to the State of Origin, all layers of the game will be covered by some of the country’s biggest league personalities. There will be talk on all things – analysis and action from on and off the field, big game names and the latest in entertainment, including performances from emerging and established artists.
Tuesdays from 1 March, 7.30pm on NITV.
