Had a pub convo about this the other day -

Langer vs Lockyer?

They're equally as shit as each other. No way would I want either one on my team.

Youve seriously asked the question that no Bronco supporter should be forced to answer. its like saying "what kid do you love more"

If I had to choose, it would be Lockyer I think.

Ive been a Langer mark all my life, never have i said that anyone is better than Langer. But lately Ive been thinking about this, and Lockyer really does have a genuine claim at being better than Langer.

Lockyers awesome career is winding down, now the question has to be asked, is Lockyer better than Lewis?

It is too difficult to compare. They have both had I would say an equal impact but in different ways due to the way the game was/is at the time of their respective careers and their team-mates.

IMO Langer sh*ts all over Lockyer and Lewis(his time at the Broncos)
Langer is the greates player to have put on the boot. Yes i am biased but IIRC Langer played 7 for Australia and A Johns played 9. So i think this proves my point if peple are saying Johns was the greatest.

Langer won 4 premierships with the Broncos compared to Lockerys 1 so i see no contest cause at the end of the day it is premierships that matter.

Lockyers won 4 premierships.

I'm guessing PL is meaning as captain, because you're exactly right.

And Kevin Walters and Michael Hancock won 5. Does that make them better?

Langer mastered the No.7 like no other player I have ever seen, including Johns. His vision in regards to his kicking was second to none.
Lockyer is the only player I can remember who was a world class playmaker from fullback, able to move into the second receiver role and control a game with ease. That's as well as having the same brilliant attributes of any other great fullback; speed, agility, defence, returns. Not nearly as dominant for as long at 5/8, and his form in the last couple of years hasn't been as great but his 2006 feats showed anyone with half a brain that he was surely amongst the best who have worn the no.6 Jersey.

As draggx said, it's like being asked to say which kid you love more. Not that I have kids, but I can imagine that would be a question that couldn't be answered. That's unless one of my kids was the new Hitler or tried to kill me, those would be deal-breakers.

You just can't split them.

They have both played resounding roles in our success on the field.

Both deserving of equal recognition IMO.

Lockyer v Langer at what? I think Lockyer deserves to be given the title 'Greatest Bronco Of All Time' but I honestly don't know who I would pick for my team. Lockyer maybe.

this question will be better answered when Lockyer is 36 lol. then we can start to compare.

how can you just go "Lockyer" and not explain why?

I really cant make up my mind, if i was to say Lockyer it would be because i still see him play now. If i said Langer its because he was my fav player as a kid.

Lockyer.

They are both champion players but I give to Lockyer because I think he has more all round skill than Langer. Better long kicking game and a better passing game in my opinion. Alfie also had more champion players around him than Locky so his job was easier.

I'm more with this...

Also I guess I 'sort of' mean for the Broncs and premiership footy... clearly Lewis was the best origin player to this day, I dont think ANYONE in the RL world doubts this.

yeh origin Lewis may be the best but for the Broncos he isnt even in the top 20
