Yeah why didn't they build a Leagues Club instead of the Centre of Excellence?? The Leagues Club makes money and then they can eventually build state of the art facilities.

Well they got the WOW factor, but only because of the level of debt they are in & Centre of Excellence is a white elephant.

Must say the situation is a lot worse than I thought it was - possibly up to $35 million? That's a masive amount of debt. Has any sporting organisation in Australia been in arrears that badly?

Surely Searle's position is now untenable? He's been on the record for months saying the debt was confined to the property arm and not the football side of the business. The external audit has exposed him as a complete liar.

Clive Palmer has ruled out coming to the aid of the financially embattled Gold Coast, saying he has no intention of diving into his pockets to help the Titans.

While the club further improved its roster for next year by announcing the signing of Dave Taylor, there is continuing speculation about its financial health due to the strain on their property arm, the Gold Coast Titans (Property) Pty Ltd.
