Just checked the score on the tv and they are down 20-0 with 20 to go.:lol:At the Tits.
Does anyone remember 2 years ago that Paul Broughton (the tits chairman) predicted that the Gold Coast were going to overtake the Broncos. What an idiot.
Over or under the cap aside, how are they affording this?
THE Titans' fight for survival has taken a dramatic twist with a high-powered consortium drawing up plans to buy the NRL licence and save the club from a $35 million debt.
The Courier-Mail can reveal a group of Queensland-based businessmen have begun due diligence into a takeover of the Titans, whose future in the NRL appears perilous as an independent auditing firm continues its inquiries into the club's finances.
Under the multi-million dollar buyout plan, Titans managing director and majority owner Michael Searle would be swept aside as part of a systematic overhaul of the ailing club.
The NRL has been notified of the looming takeover bid.
It is believed the consortium will step up plans this week with a view to submitting a formal proposal to NRL lawyers.
And that seems like the only way this will get sorted, if Searle goes and some real administrators come in.
I hope the Titans don't fold .... it'd be a shame for league fans
A few ppl keep saying they are getting handouts but I'm not sure that's accurate. I know they have received advances on the club grant for cash flow purposes but handouts imply money given which doesn't need to be repaid. Can anyone give a link which confirms handouts?
As far as Cronk getting $800k don't forget the new TV deal which will significantly increase the cap and any deal would more than likely be backended so the bulk will be paid when other well payed names have left.
