It was a great lunch today from MOL and FOGS.

I don't think they should let the public vote.. Because I know one certain halfback will be on that list even though he is inconsistent and overrated.

Haven't seen the site. On my phone. Do they include current 7's?

If so, Shaun Johnson is the player I am talking about.

If they don't include current 7's, then never mind..

Peter Sterling
Alan Langer
Johnathan Thurston
Andrew Johns
Steve Mortimer
Stacey Jones
Ricky Stuart

Yeah they do .....thought you were talking about someone else. Pretty hard to think of any halfbacks, other than Thurston, currently playing that would go down as one of the games greatest.

Tim Sheens was involved in selecting the options? Is Robbie Farah an option?

Andrew Johns
Allan Langer
Steve Mortimer
Tommy Raudonikis
Billy Smith
Peter Sterling
Johnathan Thurston

That's a tough list to put together.

The Men of League Foundation last night announced their Magnificent 7 – the seven greatest halfbacks voted by the Australian rugby league public to have strapped on football boots at an elite level in Australia since 1961.
14 nominees for the Men of League’s Magnificent 7 were hand-picked by an expert panel comprising Wayne Bennett, Neil Cadigan, Phil Rothfield, Tim Sheens and Warren Smith.
The rugby league community were then invited to select their Magnificent 7 from the nominees.
After more than 2,400 votes were cast by the rugby league loving public and a long, diligent count the final results are in and we can unveil the Men of League’s Magnificent 7:
 Andrew Johns
 Allan Langer
 Steve Mortimer
 Tommy Raudonikis
 Billy Smith
 Peter Sterling
 Johnathan Thurston
Chairman of the Men of League Foundation, Ron Coote said “It is my privilege to acknowledge these players as one of the Magnificent 7 halfbacks.
“Their exemplary commitment to the game of rugby league via their skill, dedication and flair has, according to the rugby league public, counted them among the best on record since television broadcasting began in 1961.
“It is my pleasure to have had the opportunity to watch these great players play. Their ranking as one of Men of League’s Magnificent 7 is testament to their ability to lead their team in a pivotal role on the field and to provide the rugby league community with both inspiration and entertainment.
“On behalf of the Board of the Men of League, congratulations to these Magnificent 7 on a brilliant career and this worthy recognition of your contribution to rugby league,” Ron Coote concluded.

Do I win a prize or anything?

Great list with a few picks that could have gone either way and it wouldn't have been the end of the world.

Also a timely reminder of how great Alfie was and how fortunate the Broncos were to have such a champion play for their club. In my humble opinion, he's still the best player I've seen in a Broncos jersey. The likes of Lockyer and Lewis may have achieved more in other arenas, but in a Broncos jersey...

Didn't know where to put this but Alf is being interviewed by Sterlo tonight. From the teaser, it looked really honest with Alf talking about his gambling problems.
