ANTHONY Milford will undergo a shoulder reconstruction this week after Broncos' end-of-season player reviews were completed.
Milford suffered subluxation of his shoulder – where the joint pops out and goes back in – in the first half of the final-round game against Manly.
It was similar to the injury he dealt with and played on with last season before having surgery.
Once again this year Milford played on, but now will require a correction to be back on the field when the season kicks off in 2019.
"He actually subluxed his shoulder in the first half against Manly," said Broncos' High Performance Manager Jeremy Hickmans.
"But he managed to play on and handle it for the rest of that game and the following week.
"He will need reconstructive surgery now and to undertake the associated rehabilitation time of about five months.
"That should have him back on the field for the opening to the 2019 season."
