NRL suspends Roosters' Nate Myles for six games for incident on Central Coast

The NRL plunged to an embarrassing low with the Sydney Roosters fined $50,000 and Queensland Origin star Nate Myles suspended for six games for defecating on the floor of a Central Coast hotel while in a drunken stupor.

The Queensland forward was found shortly after 8am on Sunday morning, disorientated and naked in a hotel corridor after he had attempted to gain entry into the room of a family who was leaving their accommodation.

A short time after his entry was refused he was found to have defecated elsewhere in the hotel corridor and was later discovered in a fire escape.

I just can't understand why you wouldn't just head down to reception. You would think they would have "public" toliets in the lobby for hotel patrons.

It's being reported that Myles is saying he got the doors mixed up, he thought the door he opened was to the toilet.

I could understand mixing the doors up. I suppose when you are in a different hotel each week, due to playing committments, it would not be that difficult to become disorientated, especially in the middle of the night after 4 hours of sleep.

$50 000 fine shows that the NRL are taking a stand though. Shame he won't be there in origin. Who will replace him? I suggest Stagg.

I have no sympathy for him - 6 weeks and $50,000 is a fair enough punishment I say.

However maybe the NRL should also start looking at harsher punishments on clubs that have repeat offenses by their players and/or coaching staff - maybe reduce their salary cap, deduct points, suspend them from the competition (OK, this one is pretty harsh). Some of these clubs don't seem to be taking this issues seriously and are not doing enough to get through to their players etc.

I thought the club got fined $50 K and myles only had the suspension?

Saddest thing is this guy was running (no pun) the halls of a hotel in the early hours drunk and bashing on peoples doors and it is all we have heard today in the press.
We should have been hearing more about the game of footy that was played last night which was probably imo one of the best games of the year apart from the result.\
