Murray Quits

He was under tremendous pressure up in Townsville from the start of the season.

To be honest he probably shouldnt have even started the season seeing as the Cowboys told him he was no longer in their plans.

Should have been Millward from the start, now he will get his chance.

I expect the players to 'pull their fingers out' now and we probably see the Cowboys in the 8 fairly soon.

Only if both Thurston and Bowen are available otherwise they have nothing.

Cowboys wooden Spoon 08

Have we just exluded the bunnies from the running? [icon_wink [icon_razz1

How many coaches have they sacked midseason in their history now? At least 2. Murray replaced Tim Sheens after about 3 rounds of the 2002 season from memory.

Nashy: yes, the Bunnies will be found to have breached the salary cap, so in order to prevent them winning yet another coveted NRL wooden spoon, the NRL will penalise them 10 competition points. ie, GIVE them 10 points so they finish 15th. :P

Yes, I'm predicting the Cowboys will finish with 18 points, and Souths 10.

I think Murrary Hurt replaced Sheens mid season, and then Graham Murray replaced Murray Hurst mid year, the following season

I don't understand how North Queensland are any better off with Murray walking. The caretaker won't have be at the helm next year so how are things any different?

The players (at least some of the more senior ones) didn't like Murray did they? Maybe they don't feel the same way about Millward

[icon_lol1. Yes, sorry about that misunderstanding!

Tim Sheens resigned in similar circumstances as I recall :P

I can't actually recall that many clubs actually firing their coaches. The best run of play is to tell them they won't be required next year... performance will drop and the coach will resign after around the fourth straight loss. Or something like that, anyway.

At least the Cowboys are smart enough to keep hiring NSW coaches. They learned their lesson with Grant Bell, absolutely useless.

I wish the Broncos had got Craig Bellamy. He will be the best coach of all time. Ivan Henjak will be coaching Sodor 3rd grade within 2 years I think. Broncos did not need a Bennett clone.
