He is the man charged with taking our talented squad of under 20s forward in 2017 and is a former State of Origin player.
Ex-Broncos, Bulldogs and Wests Magpies front rower Scott Tronc is the new coach of Brisbane's National Youth Competition team.
He took over when training resumed in November after the off-season departure of Craig Hodges, who left for an NRL assistant's job at the Titans.
Tronc will coach the under 20s alongside his assistant, former club captain Justin Hodges.
He is well known to the Broncos not only as a player in the club's formative years, but also as a mentor with a previous stint as the NYC assistant coach.
We had a chat to Tronc about his return to the Broncos' staff, and his hopes for 2017.

Met him once through his brother. He seemed nice enough. His brother on the other hand...

I thought craig hodges had wraps on him ??

He was one of the better NYC coaches, which isn't saying a lot since most of them are recently retired players with no real credentials.

He achieved moderate success, but had a great crop of talent to choose from. It seemed like very few players improved out of sight under him (Opacic is the only player I recall really stepping up) while others seemed to slip through the system.

In comparison to Hook who was given a difficult task in both his NYC seasons, overcame them and was able to guide them to the grand final and prelim final respectively. It seemed like a lot of players benefited from playing under Hook, which made his NRL stint all that more confusing.
