Anybody here have an NNRL team?

I got my public comp started today, a bit of fun.... am happy with my forwards but have no backs as yet.

I've got one but forgot to organise the bulk of the contracts before the first deadline. [eusa_doh

Did manage to pick up Scott Prince, Darren Lockyer, Brent Kite, Cory Paterson, Zeb Taia, Akuila Uate, Trent Waterhouse and recently Trevor Thurling but basically all the good players are gone.

Luckily I've got a second account under my uni email. [icon_wink

Those are handy pick ups though ethos. I have a Private league starting on Monday and it's a very serious business. There is actually a first grade and second grade, the top 3 from second grade move up and the bottom 3 from first grade are relegated.

I had a terrible team last year and finished 2nd last, and so now I'm down in 2nd grade. It's pretty hard-core, and I really need to recruit well to get back into the big leagues.

This mornings trial run on the public comp was an eye opener, and I made a lot of sniping errors!! Argh.

I did end up with a good pack, however, with L Douglas, I Henderson, L Stuart, A Tupou, S Thaiday, M Minichiello, S Tronc, D FaAlago, N Kenny & D Stagg.

Another lame VRL rip off!
bah you take that back.

and where is vrl today? [icon_shru nnrl still lives!!

(sorry coxy)

I really like the NNRL. I have 19 players so far, I keep on being the only person bidding and just before the deadline someone comes in and outbids me. It's kind of frustrating, but I'm happy with most of my squad so far.

Nothing will ever have anything on VRL. Ever.

That's true but it doesn't exist anymore (apart from that secret-ish comp here), so were looking for alternatives.

NNRL's the next best I reckon.

Exactly what ethos said...and most people in my comp agree that VRL was great in the day, but now that it's gone NNRL is the next best thing.

Now to go and snipe some backs off unsuspecting victims....

I need to make a decision about which hooker to go for - Issac Luke or Aaron Gorrell. I really rate Luke but the talk of the rift with Jason Taylor concerns me. Meanwhile Gorrell has competition from Marsh and McCullough but I see him as having a higher workrate than Luke. Goalkicking ability doesn't concern me too much as I already have a first string kicker.

Jazza, I'd go for Luke.

This is my team, and I am rather happy with the final product of my Public Comp Team:

> 2. Esi Tonga
> 3. Jerome Ropati
> 4. Brad Tighe
> 5. Jason Nightingale
> 6. Terry Campese Goal Kicker

> 16 Shane Tronc
> 17 Anthony Tupou

> 19 Jharal YowYeh
> 20 Lagi Setu
> 21 Wade Graham
> 22 Setaimata Sa
> 23 Glen Buttriss
> 24 Donald Malone
> 25 2nd Goal Kicker tba

That's a good side mrslong. Underrated backline, potential NSW halves combination, very solid pack and plenty of depth. Glad I'm not in you're public comp!

I am in a public comp for this with a fairly dodgy backline and very forward heavy haha

1. Luke Patten
2. Ashley Graham
3. Junior Sau
4. Willie Tonga
5. Chris Lawrence
6. Trent Barrett (risky I know)
7. Johnathon Thurston
8. Justin Poore
9. Matthew Keating
10. Luke Stuart
11. Zeb Taia
12. Ben Creagh
13. Beau Scott

14. Brad Tighe
15. Nate Myles
16. Nick Kenny
17. Gareth Ellis

The rest: Scott Dureau, Masada Iosefa, Ben Jones, Shane Rodney, Matt Scott, Misi Taulapapa, Chris Walker

Still got $423,000 to throw at a second goal kicker. I'll probably go for either Ennis, Parker or Kemp. Not quite sure who though.

And because I've got nothing else better to do, here's my second and probably worse team.

1. Shannon McDonnell
2. Akuila Uate
3. Fetuli Talanoa
4. Beau Champion
5. Ty Williams
6. Darren Lockyer
7. Scott Prince
8. Brent Kite
9. Michael Ennis (still negotiating but hopefully I get him)
10. Adam Blair
11. Cory Paterson
12. Zeb Taia
13. Trent Waterhouse

14. Maurice Blair
15. Shane Rodney
16. Trevor Thurling
17. Joel Clinton

The rest: Michael Greenfield, Brad Meyers, George Ndaira, Donald Malone

Is anyone joining Super Coach on the Courier-Mail website?

I took your advice and went for Luke and after watching the charity shield was happy with my decision. Unfortunately bidding for a second kicker started Friday night and as a result, I had to sit on it all weekend. I was the only bidder for 3 days only for someone to come in the last few hours and outbid me. So frustrated! If I didn't have to wait for the weekend I would have easily gotten Luke within the 24 hours!

It's frustrating all this delayed 2nd kicker bidding!!! I hate it.

Ethos your first team looks smokin! Your 2nd team has very nice looking halves I must say.
