With the 2014 season in the history books, I thought it'd be interesting to look ahead and assemble all the squads for the year ahead.

I'll edit this post later as squads become available but I thought it'd be fun to put together some expected line-ups and see how they change over time.

what made you put Hoffman in the Raiders lineup instead of the Bulldogs lineup, it has also been speculated he could be going there

Considering Hoffy is linked to three clubs and they all vary in strength, I literally went for the first club on offer.

It's a part of the fun, looking back and seeing how off these selections were although I played it pretty safe on some just to expose how poor certain teams are in certain positions.

The idea came to me the other day when I was rummaging through storage and came across an old note-book I kept around the 2006 GF week that had all sorts of lists, ratings and thoughts surrounding that weekend. In there it included all my thoughts on 2007 and how the teams would line up. Was crazy reading all these names I'd forgotten about like Tony Martin, Jake Lewis & Matt Bickerstaff.

Most of the line-ups are pretty close to what I'd predict, I'm still holding hope that Hoffy joins the Warriors to be honest, I think he'd fit them beautifully.

Is Brett Stewart Rumoured to be leaving? Personally I'm very keen to see Gutherson get a starting spot.

Where do you guys think Hannant fits in at the Cowboys? I'd be tempted to play him at Lock and have Scott & Tamou as the starting props, Hannant has a pretty good motor for a big fella, good defensively as well, I think he'd thrive if given the extra work load.

No way he plays lock. Not suited there at all. He'll either be a bench prop taking Ashton Sims' spot or possibly start and allow Tamou to play off the bench. Would be absolutely stunned if he played lock.

I'm not sure why he'd leave the Broncos where he was virtually pencilled in to start to go play off the bench at the Cowboys, I envision him being somewhere in the starting line-up, but at the same token I'm not sure if Tamou will be on the bench either.. dunno.

It can be argued that a lot of the Lock's in todays game play as a 3rd front rower anyway (Gallen, Heighington can be used as examples)

I wouldn't be so fast to criticize it.

In their last game, Neil Henry had Tamou start at lock and shifted Taumalolo to the right fringe, so it isn't exactly crazy in principal.

Can't see it happening but then, I reckon Bolton in this stage of his career is a bench player and I don't know if he can step up more than a couple of games.

I reckon they'll stick with a Riethmuller or Lowe - somebody of that ilk.

Actually, I'll throw Asiata's name into the mix as well. I didn't see a lot of them this year but he was the Lock of the Year in the Holden Cup - without any other options he could be a bolter and a decent fantasy option.

He's leaving us because our offer was reportedly 100k a season (the 3rd year was about 250k from memory)

The Cowboys deal is 200k and if he performs in 2015, he'll have some bargaining power when he goes to re-sign a new contract.

On Hoffman, no way he will leave us unless it is to play fullback

Updated to reflect a few changes.

Word going around is that Raiders are set to reject Hoffman and chase after Brett Stewart.

The Dogs are looking to sign Brett Morris.

Darius Boyd may stay in Newcastle after all.

Gerard Beale may end up at the Warriors.

Also still some speculation about Austin and whether he'll stay at the Tigers or head to Canberra. Wherever he goes, you'd have to assume he's on the bench.

Stewarts been given permission to look elsewhere and the Raiders are one club chasing him. Raiders also no interest in Hoffman and rumoured to be announcing Austin today, you've also left out Soliola Pete
