NRL changes obstruction rule interpretation

Yeah he got roasted for saying it, that's what I like about Fitler though, he's not afraid to voice his opinion even if it goes against the mainstream one.
It's just so hard to understand what his opinion is sometimes...

Fitler is a bundle of fun, even though he can be a bit derp I enjoy his commentary.

Warren Smith was posting great photos of examples on twitter. He convinced me the rule was right. Lots of examples of decoy runners going through gaps, not impeding anyone.

Which rule the current one or the one they started with this season.

Any chance you could post them here ?

Some of us aren't Twitterers :D

Thanks Coxy, I can add Warren Smith to the list of ppl who dislike the current obstruction rule. I really wish Anderson hadn't buckled to pressure, we would have seen a bit more creativity in attack develop, instead we are going to get block play after block play again.

I think the main difference will be teams will run the block early in the play so the D is beaten 2 or 3 passes away from the obstruction to create a grey area for interpretation.

I just hope the video refs have the vision and balls to rule no try when the defensive pattern is clearly disrupted by contact like the Cows second try on Sat night.
