How exactly did Matt Prior get 5 weeks? Dave Taylor got 5 weeks (yes I know he has carry over points galore) but the same time on the sidelines for a spear tackle that landed on the top of his back whereas Matt Prior intentionally elbowed a player in the face. How is Priors tackle worth the same punishment? Absolutely pathetic decision from the judiciary the fact JT escaped unhurt should have no bearing but I bet it did.

Also how the f#ck did Gallen escape charge. Oh I know why. He is the NSW captain and they want him clean for Origin, he made intentional contact to the head of an opponent and he is a known offender of offences like this. I am just sick of the current judiciary and its inconsistency (the Te'o, Pritchard, Vatuvei varying punishments demonstrates this point further) and the clear bias shown toward NSW origin players and against QLD origin players.

Prior pleaded guilty.

If he pleaded not guilty & they found him guilty he would have gotten 7 weeks.

DT didn't take the early guity plea & copped a heavier sentence.

Carryover points or not, Tony Williams must be spewing. No intent in his tackle and he cops a bazillion weeks. Prior has much more intent and gets only 5, Gallen supposedly had no intent either but gets away. I'm sure T-Rex will learn though -- thou shall only infringe during State of Origin.

Well then clearly the system is wrong, you should not get more for fighting a charge unsuccessfully. Those two offences should never have been in the same ballpark of suspensions. Taylor's tackle was worth a maximum of 2 weeks and even then I don't think he deserved anything Prior deserved 10 at a minimum, he intentionally attacked the face of an opponent with his cocked elbow. How those two incidents carry the same punishment is a joke. I think the whole carry over points system should also be scrapped. Every indiscretion should simply be judged on its own merits, just because Prior had a clean record for instance should not mean he gets less for that type of attack than say a Steve Matai gets for it.

Because a similar tackle from Uate went unpunished.

The Taylor tackle wasn't even considered a penalty at the time.

Rocky how can you possibly think 5 weeks is appropriate for elbowing the head? Also the Uate no charge is a further example of how bad the system is. You should not get less for a early plea and you should not get more for pleading innocent or contesting the charge, no legal system works like that. The entire system is backwards.

This. Prior should have got 10 weeks. Minimum. to suggest it wasn't intentional is a joke
