NRL Match Highlights

Got the Round 24 clash against Titans uploading now.

If I remember correctly, Grothe was dropped after that game? He was terrible, lol. Shows how classy KHunt was too.

He was.

To make it worse for him, he was dropped for T-Rex lol. He didn't play for the rest of the season after that game and the only thing that saved him from being sold was Daniel Anderson coming to the club.

Watching these 2008 games, I can see why some people don't want Khunt.

Those long, flat cut out passes to a flying winger. Those well timed and well placed grubber kicks. The competitiveness. That step that could make a defender tackle nothing but air. Those kick returns. That ability under the high ball, etc..

Who could possibly want that?

I understand he hasn't played league in years, but you don't just forget how to play...

Anyway, I got a few more done up already. Uploading them now.

Hunt was very good.

But he doesn't fit into the projected side for 2015.

My dislike for Hunt has nothing to do with his footy ability.

I had a bit of a laugh when Tunza took the final conversion in this game. He couldn't stop laughing!

I miss angry Ben Hannant. And Karmichael. Also what happened to Denan Kemp when he came back? Was it injuries that forced him to retire?

Lovin' these highlights.

A lot of these games were only games I saw at the stadium so in a lot of ways it feels like I'm watching these games for the first time. It's crazy what the mind remembers, like I remember the Knights game feeling frustrating but I couldn't quite remember why. Watching the replay, the amount of bombed tries was pretty frustrating, what was it in the end? At least three? And poor goal-kicking has always left me a little bit sour so I can see how I came to that conclusion. Then I remembered the Raiders game being one of the better Broncos performances but watching the replay, the Raiders seemed to have a lot of opportunities. I guess what I remembered was the finish where we were looking to score on every set.

Also what happened to Denan Kemp when he came back? Was it injuries that forced him to retire?

Which time?

In 2010 we brought him back and he had a good return game then a poor away game against Canberra. Then against the Warriors, in what turned out to be one of the worst losses in the season in so many ways he suffered a punctured lung and wasn't the same after that. He kept trying to rush his comeback for Easts in the ISC but physically he was so uncomfortable and unsure of himself he ended up pulling out of that season quite early.

He tried his hands at Rugby 7s before St George Illawarra threw him a lifeline.

It didn't work, so he came back. His form was reportedly scratchy for the Dolphins but during the trials he sort of had this ability to be in the right place at the right time to score tries. He was one of those players that most members on here had in their 17 and it was sort of like, well, why aren't we playing this guy?! While none of our Redcliffe contingent ever really stuck up for him.

He was eventually selected to play during Origin time but it turned out to be a bait and switch with Whitchurch coming into the team instead...stinking the joint out.

Kemp had a purple patch of form in 2008. But thats all it was, I think he just wasnt particularly good.

I haven't read right through this thread but I'd love to see the low lights of the infamous match from years ago when the Broncos were penalised 10 nil. The greatest single piece of biased refereeing since the famous French referees of the Kangaroo tours. I just want to see what a perfect team looks like !

The Dragons fans back in those days (2008 vintage) were such douches because the Broncs couldn't win a game against their team. Great to see the tables have turned and they are now our bitches.

I was quite frustrated at Kemp and Robinson in that game, they both bombed certain tries imo.

The first bombed try by Kemp, he made that break but hesitated once he saw Prior coming across for the tackle. If he had just kept running, he would have had too much pace.

The second bombed try, Kemp fucked up the movement by holding the ball for too long. He should have drawn and passed before being tackled by the Dragons players. Manihera was unmarked on the wing. That's one moment where Broncos really missed Hunt. If Hunt was the one that had the ball, the winger scores.

Robinson, perhaps there was some doubt as to whether he would have made it, but I think he would have. He hesitated when he should have just kept running for the corner.

I also couldn't believe Taylor actually thought he could score in such a small space. It wasn't the first time that season he tried to be the hero and fucked up.

Broncos really missed Hodges and Hunt in that game. They would have had a couple more tries if they were there. Unfortunately, Hunt was injured and Hodges was suspended after that "up yours" gesture to Archer in the Raiders game.
