What is the point of this trial? There is almost no one out there that will be in either team come round 1 outside Hess or maybe 3 or 4 at most who are outside chances.

Waqa v Allen has only happened twice in Meninga for two wins to Waqa. Those two bringing it back for the next 10 years would be fun.

Likely. I'd say it's more likely set aside to get some time into players like Hess who are coming back from injury, new combinations etc. These teams maybe just don't have many players in that category? Isn't this what the first 2 trials have always been though? We just never got to see it because they weren't main stream televised.

Where is everyone else? I get a few are probably involved in the All Stars etc but I definitely expected more of the main squad than this. This is the team you'd run out against one of your feeder clubs.

It's a strange mix. I have no idea what the thought process is. 2nd stringers mixed in with 4th and 5th stringers.

Yeah fair. I would have thought though the likes of Burns, Laybutt, Purdue, Shibasaki, Vailea and Valemei would be playing.

I thought he was meant to be a gun junior when he was coming through... he looks very ordinary

I think he's a lot better than he looked tonight but he didnt play well at all. He's usually a really good defender. Mind you, the cows were abysmal across the board
