Tigers-Cowboys - The past couple of wins have set the Cowboys up for a decent tilt towards the finals. This should be a gimme, but the Tigers have a habit of troubling the Cowboys, so a boil-over at home wouldn't be the most shocking result.

Warriors-Eels - CNK and Johnson back in time to play a well and truly checked out Eels side. The Warriors should be able to keep their season alive here, but realistically I can't see it being of much consequence come the end of the season.

Dolphins-Roosters - The Dolphins have let two wins slip through their grasp and they really need to make up for it here. On the other hand you have the Roosters who have one of the strongest rosters on paper but just appear to be lacking that gear to match it with the Panthers and the Storm. They really need to batten down the hatches, settle on their

Titans-Broncos - It may have little bearing on the finals, but it should make for an enjoyable local derby. After a horrific start with injury, the Titans have slowly put themselves together and proven a real spoiler this year. We'll see if the Broncos have any gas in the tank to play a similar role as the home and away season winds down. You'd have to think this will be very similar to their earlier meeting where defence won't be a priority and both teams we'll be looking to light it up. Great for the neutrals, but incredibly frustrating for the supporters.

Storm-Dragons - It's been a real up and down season for the Dragons. They're a confidence team, when things are going their way they look as good as anybody in the competition. However it can all go south for them in a hurry, so we'll know what type of game we're in for in the opening 20 minutes. Melbourne just keep on keeping on. I don't think by their standards they've just been that great - it's just that in a season filled with disruption their depth has shone through and the form of their key players like Jahrome Hughes has been exceptional. With everyone focused on the finals, do they have that extra gear to win it all?

Sharks vs. Rabbitohs - It's been a year to forget for the Rabbits and while they were able to spark themselves following the departure of Demetriou it's getting difficult to maintain the motivation. If this game was at ANZ, I'd have more faith in the Rabbits, but home game for Cronulla, looking to bounce back after a frustrating loss to the Cowboys and in spite on a couple of setbacks, they're still in the box-seat for a Top 4 birth.

Panthers-Knights - Panthers looked pretty ominous on the weekend, and there's little to think the Knights will trouble them. I'm excited to see how Isaiah Iongi will go. You've probably seen me prattle on about the U/21s and he's a product of that development line. He actually started at the Broncos affiliate Norths and was there three years ago before Penrith brought him south. He was already a prospect back then, but he's been given time to mature and with injuries he gets his opportunity. Curious to see how he'll go, I'm sure Gamble will want to test him under the high ball early.

Canterbury-Canberra - It's all coming together for Canterbury and this is shaping up as a big celebration. However if there's been one surprise packet this season, it's Canberra who still find themselves well and truly in the mix despite the quality of their spine. I really hope Canberra can turn up for this one and challenge the Bulldogs physically. If they're able to, it should be a cracker of a game and a great way to round out the weekend.

Oh right, this thing is still going. Let's get to cricket season already.

Iongi on debut.

53 Cup games for Penrith. Norths Devils Meninga and Colts and gone down there to be behind Edwards since 2021.

Nice start for the Tiger. Be good if they could beat the Cowgirls just can't see it happening.

Who was the touchie on that... not even close

That's one where Val doesn't run through the gap created by the decoy.

How often is it called an obstruction when the decoy runs into the second rower...

I'm not sure that is the right call. If it was on the next man's outside shoulder it is an obstruction. Not that one. He got to the inside shoulder of the 3 man. Should be a try.

Damn! I tipped the tigers and it already looks like that was a bad idea

Be interesting to see Bulla behind a good pack. Looks really good in a shit team like the Tigers.
